I run fractal 50 daily and I found in many cases I died because of the evil Burning Speed, especially in boss fights. The animation is too long and tricky. Now I’m considering not to use it in boss fights at all…

And sometimes dodge is also tricky. I believe I’ve completed half of the animation and i still got damage…and you know what’s the meaning of one hit for ele in high level fractal…

You can shorten the distance travelled by turning you camera up so you are looking straight down on your character.

The dodge is kinda random, and not really useful for something that needs to be reliably dodged.

Second this. Better use Burning Speed after a boss attack to not risk missing dodge at all. It is still a good DPS increase in your rotation.

Try to use it as an evade. Soon you will know that evade is way shorter than skill animation and this skill will likely get you killed

Yeah never rely on it for the evade. You will faceplant 9 times out of 10.

i use it not to evade but for the damage and fire field

Burning Speed in fractals is a must-have in any D/F elementalist’s rotation. The damage output is too good to be passed on, however unless you are absolutely confident in your ability to predict a boss’ behaviour and your timing I wouldn’t try using it as an evasion, except on Mai Trin’s teleport shot in case you’re stuck in fire attunement, normally you’d just want to use Ring of Earth to block it.
The blast radius on Burning Speed however, which represents the vast majority of it’s damage, can be used to your advantage if you aim it properly in order to get the damage in without putting yourself at risk while doing it. This is something that any elementalist worth his/her salt must do, especially in fights like Mossman and Archdiviner where you have to stay alive despite their cleave abilities with hardly any tell that will 1 shot you at lv 50.

don’t forget after one shotting you, the archdiviner gives you Weakness aids to make sure you do 0 damage in down state!
