If Anet thinks that simple CD buffs will fix dagger and scepter…. Well, it is not (scepter buffs were still a big improvement). The only reason ele is still in meta in ANY gamemode involving combat with players, is because Focus has insane damage avoidance. At least, I myself don’t see dagger offhand or scepter ever being meta, since there are so much better no-brainer choices.
Maybe I could see dagger offhand being good again without any new damage avoidance, but that would require 15s CD on ride the lightning.
What do you guys think?

dagger offhand used to be meta before heart of thorns. Its just impossible to play d/d without sustain and might.

With the amount of powercreep already in the game, I would say it is not too bad to give RTL evade frames

I agree with op, I and other players have been saying this forever, ele weapons need ways to avoid dmg and then sustain can be toned down.

Dagger mainhand has Burning Speed, Ring of Earth, Shocking Aura. (Off-hand: Updraft,)

Scepter has Blinding Flash, Dust Devil and Rock Barrier’s toughness.

I agree with OP. Focus is the only reason Elementalist went anywhere lately. Thankfully, they tried to adress it this patch for Staff by increasing the Unsteady Ground duration by 1 sec (which is nothing to laugh at), and reducing the cooldown of both Gust and Windborne Speed (which would be interesting if it cleansed slow).
