I am finally getting around to crafting my ascended weapons, and I am creating a set of daggers for my ele (and maybe thief). I am stuck though, what sigil I should stick into the slots. I am a little fuzzy on how main hand vs second hand work. Like if I had a sigil of battle in the off hand weapon, would the might stack still proc when I attunement switch? Or does it have to be in the main hand? Would I be able to stick a sigil of battle and a sigil of energy…and still be able to get both or would one be wasted?

I know I want to stick a sigil of battle in there…might stacks are great. I am debating on the off hand weapon slot. Energy would be nice…or maybe a sigil of fire? Or should I think about a whole other set of sigils for an ele?

I plan on having a scepter as well…figured the same sigil for that one too?

I am a PvE player mostly with a touch of WvW but nothing serious. Mostly dungeons and fractals, hence the want for easy might stacking.

Sigils will proc regardless of position for weapon swap. Here’s the wiki page, just click on the type of sigil and it will tell you the restrictions.

As for which, I can’t say I’m too experienced with Eles, but energy and doom are popular in pvp. If you’re building zerker glass cannon, on most classes it’s fire/air sigils for bonus damage. I’ll let someone else give a better say-so for eles.

Ah thanks for the link. Been looking over them. I am finding that Sigil of Purity is nice to have on my Thief but not sure about it on my Ele dagger. It’s hard to remove condi if you don’t go down the water line (and for a dungeon ele you cant really afford to do that…the usual build for that is 6/6/2/0/0/0 for s/d or s/f). I could make a Sigil of Cleansing as it would give it a reliable source of condi removal.

I know Sigil of Battle will be one…but that other is causing me issues. I suppose just the usual Sigil of Force might be nice too…or energy, more dodges is helpful. Too many choices! Any expert ele that can give some advice?

Battle + Energy: GvG / Group Roam / 5v5s / 1vOutnumbered
Battle + Doom: Duels / solo roam

As much as I appreciate advice, Lotus, I am not a PvPer…I said so in my post. Your suggestions relate to PvP. I run dungeons and fractals so I am not sure how useful a single dose of poison would be for mobs? Energy might be helpful but maybe something is better?

For PvP yeah, I can easily see those suggestions as being ones to pick though.
