Diamond Skin / Low or High HP setup
Toughness matters much more than total health because i.e. 5000 extra hp only increases the hp threshold for Diamond Skin by 500. Having higher Toughness makes your heals more effective in comparison.
Chill doesn’t affect Thief weapon skills at all since they have no cooldown. It’s still useful because it slows movement speed by a lot. Relying on chill to not die against any class is also a very, very bad idea.
I always have High Toughness/High HP builds because of the condi meta, low HP and healing is not really working at the moment because condition eats you like hell and most probably you got poison on you so your heals cut to half….
But I am hoping to be able to go back to Valykrie Amulet again if DS can counter the condi meta.
Well what I expect from chilling that I am able to activate 2 abilities against a chilled opponent when he was activating one.
If the only thing I achieve he is crippled for %66 that is really not that useful, specially against thief, rangers….
A 30 earth – 20/ 30 water build with cleric amulet would have plenty of toughness and healing power to heal back to life several times. Add cantrips, cantrip traits and signet of restoration, and you’ll get plenty of passive healing. Maybe more so with lingering elements.
Something like:
30 earth
20 water
20 arcana
Earth’s Embrance, Rock Solid, Diamond Skin
Cantrip Mastery, Soothing Disruption
(Whatever), Elemental Attunement
Passive regen:
- Regeneration
- Soothing Mist
- Signet of Restoration
Defensive stats:
+ 200 vitality
+ 998 healing
+ 869-989 toughness (stone flesh trait)
With the buffed Windborne Dagger, a new variation of d/d roaming bunkers can come out of this. A staff version will be able to offer massive healing support too.
Switch cleric amulet with valkyrie, take 15 points out of arcana for air, and with the right runes/ sigils, you have a less sturdy s/d bunker with strong burst potential.
A pure glass cannon fresh air build can also go for a 30 air, 30 earth, 10 water/ arcana for massive burst damage, and diamond skin would be there to give to eles the extra edge at the beginning of a fight. Because, let’s be honest, glass cannon eles like this decide the outcoming of any battle in the first seconds.
I feel like this might bring back the valk/cleric eles since their major problem was low vitality and conditions.
Also what’s the point of going 10 into water come december 10th if nothing good is there anymore? 0/30/30/0/10 seems more reasonable.

20 in water can be quite critical with new Soothing Wave (5 regen when you are critically git) and Soothing Disruption (regen with cantrip)…
Small heal but they will always keep you at %90 threshold.
It would be really cool if written in stone will not be also Grand Master combining DS with Signet of Restoration and it still have its passive effect of SOR after usage would be cool….
So a 0/10/30/20/10 seems logical it will suck to play Ele without EA but we will see.
