In the current meta are they just completely outclassed by Zerkers?

This can be devasting against zerkes. Movement is low excep OL swiftness which is the weakest spot. But you generaly defend a point and its fine with a mesmer or on foefire.

I have a lot of fun with VIPER. I pulled off a point assault 1:4. Maybe one of my best gameplays. It was pure fun evrything exploding, reflected, condibombed … three down just the necro survived in shroud condibombing me to death after all on cooldown. Got a nice message. This was impressive :-).

This still gives OK teamsupport. The drawback is that it´s suceptible to focus fire which makes it non meta… But i like it.
Can be played with other runes but i think soldiers just wins for me.
