Does Anet think Eles can heal vs condi meta?
You’re playing a class with nearly limitless options to clear condis.
Try doing something other than skill spamming? Maybe clear with one of the fields you lay down. Don’t be a kitten.
Protip: You don’t have to stand in the fray. Don’t worry about even doing damage: you are a healbot. Just stick to your teammates and spam protection, heals, and cleanses on them. Don’t cleanse worthless condis and small stacks of condis. You have to use positioning well, as you don’t have a bunch of stab or stunbreakers, so stay out of the crap everyone is throwing on point.
I play it with scepter due to better positioning options. What i hate is if i see lots of condi oponents is that i should trait water for more group cleanses. And i also don´t like to be bound to soldier rune but i have the most solid experience/results with it …. Its the go to rune for tempest wit 4 shouts …. When i see no condi oponent (assumed which unfortunately is nearly always correct ^^) then i swap rune. Forge is a nice one i like with sage amulet. But one mesmer and 1-2 necromancer with the ocasional condi warrior is standard … sigh . Classic teams i fight are 1-2 DH and reaper , daredevil + druid/mesmer

No. It’s awful. Druid is a way better healer that does damage. I’m playing my necro now.
Druids give more raw healing, but eles give more:
- projectile hate
- group cleanses
-group prot
-greater range on heals
That being said, it depends on what MMR range you play in. In higher MMR ranges, eles are amazing because your team knows how to support you and make the most of your support. If the enemy is focusing you, they will be able to capitalize on your kiting and surviving for a long time. Players play defensively, so the heals/prot/etc. you give out go way further.
In lower MMR/with worse opponents, your team-mates will not know how to protect you when focused (with counter-pressure), will not capitalize on the windows you give, and will gleefully suicide into a big ol’ mess of AoEs dying in 2s (with which your heals do exactly noting). At that level, druid is superior because mobility and 1v1 capability allow you to make up for their bad rotations. In fact, at that level, thief is basically a god due to the extreme mobility and burst potential (nobody is tanky).
+1 black beard i encounter that. I stick to ele annyways. But i paly a completely diffrent one. One that can carry himself. It has weaknesses but basically destroys DH, LB druid, thief and revenant without much effort. I play offensiv support peeling myself. Main thing is to tell players what to do, that i go ahead setting up missile defence, drawing fire on me and whom they shall focus down from range behind me. Unfortuantely they often don´t listen :-(. If they do its usually a blowout …..
I gave up on healing. Yes i still heal with sharig auras, but the rest is offensive sharing might and weakening oponents doing up to 5k AE DPS if pug´s don´t watch out and then overload fire on three corpses at once often gaining rampage…. I am baically fire traited burn ele that does all the prot, cleanse and projectiel hate you expect but i have no Healing power. I kite and absorb bursts dragging fire like black beard wrote but doing damage instead of healing. I don´t try to outheal i try to absorb as much damage i can with prot, auras, weakness, reflect and making myself the target. I win and loose and struggle in silver but i try :-). My main enemy is necromancer in teamfights. If oponets don´t focus him down it´s mostly unwinable. I am often last man standing but with no chance against his corrupts and bombs. I can only beat necro 1:1 and thats hard if he can play. And warrior is also bad for me. I can´t kill the good ones and must run or will mostly loose after a minute.
I got a loss streak after placing. I thought why the hell ….. What do i miss ….
It was the crackle when gale song triggers and i turn a superspeed loop. My build was made for offense. I tried to increase group healing with torrets but thats a total fail. A small change with huge effect. Going back to gale song + tempestious aria like i palyed for long did the job going to wins again… It´s who i build and traind and people somtimes write to me didn´t expect that. Adapt to solo Q ;-).
