When we talk about 20% cooldown reduction on elemental spell does the lingering attunement feature allow all spell to benefit from the reduction long as within the 5 second time window? Also if i have 20% cooldown on fire and 20% on air does this mean if i switch to air from fire ill have 40% cooldown reduction for 5 second?
i don’t believe it works like that. 20% cooldown on fire refers to the cooldown of the fire skills. I.e A firegrab which is 45 seconds I believe will be 36 seconds. It doesn’t mean that you have a 20% cooldown when you attune to fire which I think that is how you are interpreting as. Or an updraft which has a 40 second cooldown becomes 32 seconds with 20% cooldown recharge and air skills.
Only effects like Soothing Mist, the 10% movement speed with 1 into air and the 120 toughness you get if you spec 1 in to earth benefits from Lingering Attunements. I’m sure there are more traits I’m missing. I think the damage traits while attuned to a certain element still work, or at least should apply, because technically you are still attuned to that attunement with lingering attunements. But the recharge only applies to the cooldown of the spells of that attunement if that makes sense.
It doesn’t really make sense to have a 40% cooldown reduction for 5 seconds, nor have I heard anything like that in this game.
Damage modifiers don’t work with lingering elements, making the trait nearly useless.
GW2W: Lingering Elements - "This trait only functions with Soothing Mist, Flame Barrier, Zephyr’s Speed and Stone Flesh. "
So this only work with 1 point minor Adept traits in each element.
