Hi, I’m Rare and new to the forums. If you’re confused by the title, that’s simply a spur of the moment name for my build. Basically I dual wield daggers with elementalist, I use Fire element pretty much all the time, and what I do in PvP is basically apply burning to as many people as possible and watch them drop like flies after 10 seconds.

My question however is, since I’m a noob, I’m not really sure if I’m really doing as much damage as I can. So here are the two main details: my burns do about 630 damage per tick and last about 10-11 seconds. I don’t have any Rank 10 gear or anything, this is just the regular gear you get when you make a new character and go straight to Heart of the Mists.

Has anyone achieved higher burning damage than this with a new character? Or is 630 pretty much the most I can reach until I get some better gear from the Rank 10 etc. vendors?

PvP gear always has maxed out stats, but I can’t remember if the default gear is set up for condition damage or not. Go to the armor/weaponsmith and stack all the condition damage you can if that’s what you’re after.

Rare, sPvP gear in gw is all the same stat-wise, only differing in aesthetics. The stuff you start with is the same as rank 10 stat-wise.

Ah, okay. Well I just tweaked some stuff and I’m up to 670 burn damage. Mainly I was just curious to see if someone had reached a higher number.

I was able to get 852 per tick with 25 stacks of might.

I maxed my burn damage to 682, if I remember correctly, without any Might stacks.
