Hey all!

I recently started doing end game content, with my Elementalist and I’ve got to say that it is a very fun class to play as. (My other being Ranger.) But my little, non game breaking problem is that fact that we do not have a second weapon slot, which I totally get, I mean for every weapon we get four ability styles for it, which is awesome! Now I prefer the look, feel and power of going dual daggers (That lightning whip and dragon’s breath is so cool!) but doing some events I always get downed quickly before I can let off a rotation, which usually leads me to going back to staff, which is also very good. But some enemies reflect ranged attacks, now I get that this is apart of the game that Arenanet wanted, it being fun, yet challenging, but having to have daggers or a staff in my bag and then changing back and forth gets a little tedious. So I was hoping maybe we Elementalist’s could get a second slot, but it be different from the rest I.E more of a cool down period, maybe somewhere between 60 to 90 seconds in combat, so that it isn’t exploited like crazy, because all other classes are able to have that ranged and melee ready to go and they do it so well I just want the Elementalist to join in that fun.

Not needed, for elementalist, you switch elements to move between defensive and attack and cc, and for style of play you switch between dagger>sceptre>staff (only dagger is competitive in spvp but others fine elsewhere) that gives you 20 -24 spells and 5 utilities.

The most you can hope for is an elite spec in the future that changes how attunements work and allows weapon swap. It’s incredibly unlikely, but it’s also the only way I see weapon swap on ele’s getting added.

I’m not a PvE player, so I can’t really speak to the problems you’re having. If you put up the build you use though, there’s probably a tweak or two that should help you out.

I would like something like an elite where you tie a weapon set to an element so if you swap element you get diffrent sets. To make balnacing easy you can swap the two elements you traited (so arcane falls out), can have two sets and gain benefits like faster swap. The thing with that could be lowering skill floor but might be intresting. Or the weapons are tied depending on the traited elements. Firs is for traited, second for untraited elements :-). Ot its decided by traiting.

In theory, conjures are how you deal with being range-locked. However, the charge system kills it, so…get used to just swapping.
