Hi guys,

Extreme total noob ele player here seeking any suggestions/advice on builds/playstyle etc.

This is going to sound quite odd but I’ve had an ele for a long time now, 2 ele’s actually, but I rarely ever play them due to various reasons; I never really took a liking to ele in the first place but also the daunting array of many skills including but not limited to F1-F4 keys plus each attunement spell(s) associated with them…

… SO, after a very long time I’ve finally grown an interest in the class and Tempest in general. I’d really like to get into it more.

My main game modes are & have been WvW (roaming, zerging, dueling) and quite the bit of PvE now that HoT has soared. PvP is alright when I’ve got nothing else to do.

• Is there a build out there for noobs like me at ele?
• Does anyone have vids of basic D/D ele rotation?
• What is a good build to start with on ele for WvW orientated gameplay?
• Can any WvW builds be ‘copy-pasted’ for PvP use? (yes, I enjoy a bit of PvP sometimes)
• Any tips on what gear/stats to use with the current meta going on?

I am literally just looking for any advice you guys have. Sorry for all the noob questions, but thank you in advance.

for wvw I use dagger/warhorn as tempest … perma swiftness + aura support with shouts and heals …

What i read out of this he likes duels and small group combat.
Then the question is meta build or more customized. And what resources/equipement is available.
D/D is outdated. D/F is better for duels when you meet reapers or dragonhunters.
I am a WvW fan and player and so i use staff or offand focus. Usually scepter/focus but scepter has its flaws but i like it. Funny that it helps against reapers and trapers due to range :-).

WWW has many uses for ele. When you zerk with ele, you should equip your staff and land fire fields, chills, static fields on enemy blob and if you get few seconds of peace – meteor shower. Also you should drop heals on your blob. Your job is to take out ac, oils, and so on when you engage enemy gate. Also drop your aoes on walls if enemy starts to def. Basic set is fire – water – arcane traitlines and if things get ugly – well, I suggest you to use mist form utility to get on safe place in big battle. However stay far from melee builds.

For little teams I suggest you to use D/F with aura-sharing build, earth( or air)/water/tempest, Superior Rune of the Trooper, utilities with full shouts. This build works well on pvp too.
