ELEtism discussion: Fresh Air
The first build is kind of doody. You get so much more out of valk amulet since you scale tremendously with healing power up until around 600. Final Shielding is a horrible trait. It still suffers from the mechanic which if you’re bursted down from 26%-0% it’ll never proc. Renewing Stamina is much better. Drop the move speed signet for cleansing fire/armor of earth and pick up some runes that actually give you something decent. You’re not running enough toughness/vitality/healing power to take full advantage of diamond skin on that build. You’re relying on your opponent to just make a mistake and blow cooldowns on you before just auto attacking you a few times, and you have almost zero ways to enter/leave/disengage fights because of the focus offhand, you have no way to get your health back above that threshold. Dagger offhand would even serve you better in this regard, because you could save your RTL and lightning flash to disengage to full heal.
Second build same thing. I’m not sure why you’re chosing focus unless you’re opting for the comet daze to put out more fresh air damage. Without evasive arcana or DOH cleansing wave, you just have zero staying power or ways to fully utilize diamond skin. The 30 in earth is giving you nothing for the build or the idea. If you want to go full gimmick, take 20 out of earth, put it into water, take vital striking, something else, and pick up valk amulet with berskerer jewel and some other kind of runes. You’d have around 450 healing power, do just as much damage above 90% hp, and have more options.

because, actually the best way to utilize the cheese of diamond skin is to take as little damage as possible, and the best way to do that is to remain far away from ur enemy

also, focus, earth 5 is something every ele should love and hold dear to their heart, and if u dont, then u dunno what is up in pvp
I’m doing very well in tPvP having never touched focus for more than luls in sPvP.
And how is it irrelevant? If you’re saying you aren’t 1v1ing but team fighting and trying not to take 1400ish damage because you have focus-earth-5 to best utilize the cheese of diamond skin is… the best way to use the trait, then I’m not sure you know what is up in PvP. Even though you clearly say you want to team fight but if you get “jumped on by mutliple people” when you have no escapes or sustain, you will die, but you still want to teamfight… I just don’t know.

Not to mention your fresh air burst rotation is really suboptimal. Hurl + Lightning Flash + Air 15, Air 2 + Comet + Arcane Blast + Air 15, Air 4 for the KD+ Fire anything(landing a phoenix behind them before they get up is max damage) is much more damage and the daze prevents any retaliation minus dodging. With enough practice you can pull it off in around 2 seconds.

I’m running same trait points but different traits and weapons. D/F is a lot better imo since you can burst and then lightning whip away while invulnerable from obsidian flesh. And projectiles are no concern. But earth I feel is way better for defense and as good or better than fire line for offense, due to all the %damage steroid traits.
I use geomancer’s alicrity to take advantage of focus earth skills and renewing stamina so that you can take advantage of 10% damage increase from earth grandmaster minor far more often (and just increase survivability a ton from dodges). I do also take diamond skin just because it helps with necromancers and engis and honestly it’s not hard to keep up hp since ether renewal heals over half your health bar with a burst build.

i think that to correct this, is any ele build is going to literally melt to any good (fill in the blank) in a matter of seconds if their not careful…

the truth is, only way to make ele work is keep movin and hit them before they hit u, it is very team dependent on your team giving you room to breathe
But if u can, they can blow someone up harder than a thief
