Earth Field, A Proposal.
I agree with you about earth fields, and I think that some more of the elementalist’s fields could use some improvement. Fire dagger 4 should pulse small damage or burning within its circle. We could stand in this case to make the circle just slightly smaller. If not that, then make it apply burning on cast as well. Fix water staff 5 to proper duration. Air staff 5 should stun whenever you run into its border, not just the first time.
That said, this is just a small part of the improvements ele could use.
Earth fields seem like a good idea, though the name needs a tweak possibly though that’s just me.
Changing Unsteady Ground to a circle seems like an ok idea that would be a minor buff to it, and encourage encapsulating enemies.

Changes I would make, particularly to daggers as there is only one combo field in daggers and two blast finishers.
Dagger Earth 5 is no longer a blast, but an earth field during the channel.
Dagger Water 2 is a blast finisher
Dagger Water 5 is a water field
Dagger Air… needs major overhaul on almost every skill…
Dagger Fire 3 is a leap finisher

Actually, I think earth skills make more sense as finishers than fields. They’re hard, physical rocks, pretty much comparable to being smahed by a hammer or a mace. I can’t see why it would make sense for an arrow to cross a bunch of floating rocks and gain bleeding, or why whirling hard rocks against the the face of everyone else would add protection. :P
I think they were clever in making earth a finisher attunement. Maybe it could work as a sand field, but then it would overlap with the dark/ smoke fields.
That being said, mechanically, it does makes sense as a protection/ bleeding field, which is currently lacking.
I love your idea OP. That would be awesome. And it’s a game. It doesn’t have to make sense. Why does a rain of meteors falling on your face do less damage than heartseeker? It’s a game.
