Behold! A guild for Elementalists! This is a place for anything Ele. It’s basically an in game forum!

I was inspired to do this from the Thief and Mesmer forum guilds, [Teef] and [OMFG]. So should Elementalists be left out?

Anyone is welcome, as long as you’re willing to learn and help others.

There are ranks for every kind of player, from experienced teachers to the ones who just rolled an Ele today. And you don’t have to be an Elementalist to join. You can be whatever profession you want, and use this guild for learning how to combat Eles or to learn what skills do what. You can discuss what needs changing, buffing, nerfing, etc. So if you want a place to talk about Eles, join the Official Ele Forum Guild!

Rules and Guidelines:

- No trolling. You can joke around, but don’t troll.
- Be civil in any discussion. Insulting will get you a warning or a kick.
- Keep discussions about Elementalists or related to the profession if possible. If you want to talk about other professions, that’s fine, but don’t derail discussion about Eles.
- Try to answer any questions you know the answer to, even if it’s “stupid”.

In this thread, post your in game name, and what role you’d like to take on. These roles are not restrictions; they just help others know what you specialize in. The roles are as follows:

- Teacher: You remember when Fireball was actually large, and you remember every Shatterstone buff. If you love passing on Ele knowledge, this will be your rank. This rank has three sub-ranks:
– PvE Teacher: For those who want to primarily teach PvE. Raid, Fractals, Dungeons, Open World.
– WvW Teacher: For those who want to primarily teach WvW. Roaming, Zerging.
– PvP Teacher: For those who want to primarily teach PvP. Learning to “git gud”.
- Tester: You love to experiment with new builds and to discover their viability in any game mode.
- Student: You’re new to Elementalist. You spam Fireball because it’s a friggin’ _ball of fire! This is also the rank for anyone who’s just here to learn about this fascinating and complex profession.

Hi there! As a person who started this game as an ele, I would love to be involved in this guild. In the past, I have attempted a number of ele builds including the standard auramancer, bruiser vanilla d/d ele (my favourite), condition stone heart tank, semi glass fire condition based ele (new patch hype), s/f power roaming (I’m awful at this spec XD) and the standard zerg backline staff. My preferred playstyle is typically a utility support that offers some damage, some healing and some cc that is usually on the mid-front-lines. As for role, I would love to be a tester for your guild since I have considerate experience in formulating unexpected/out of the box builds for WvW or PvP. I am currently on Blackgate but I am willing to switch servers if it means that I can join an awesome community that likes to screw around in WvW!

- I want to specialize in staff combat. A lot of folks say it’s an easy weapon to master but when I actually try to work with it, it’s pretty breezy after a few attempts in WvW and PvE. The issue comes in sPvP. 2vX is pretty decent, however when it comes to 1v1 it becomes pretty difficult (ok maybe that’s an understatement lol). People will say it was designed with PvE and WvW (group combat in general) in mind but I want to go through the challenge of mastering the wep in 1v1 as well.

I’ve played Ele since beta. The class is what keeps me playing this game. I mainly do casual PvE, with some Fractals thrown in. I also play hotjoin PvP (Bear rank, not that rank means much), though I’m currently on a break from PvP because I’m a scrub and it’s been frustrating lately. Despite how long I’ve been playing this class, I still consider myself very much new to the profession, as there are always new things I’m learning. I’d love to learn from my fellow Eles, and to try out various builds in PvE and PvP. My dream is to play a viable condi build in PvP

Started as ele and sticked to it to train one class to a decent level.
I am some kind of “Theocrafter” and love to do builds and constantly improve them.
Play 99% S/F ele. Did my personal hybrid/condi build to counter the berserker meta over a year ago. It evolved and is still good for nasty surprises. Started PvP with HOT now reaching my 1k ele matches. If you want some exotic build for your pesonal playstyle i am the right one to ask. I find playing meta booring. I play warrior as backup for a change. I play PvE only ocasional to get some stuff …. I already did “Equip a newbie” session for a new guardian.

- Hi there! I’ve been playing GW2 for several months now, and I don’t have any alts yet – been playing with ele since the start! Although I sound fresh, I’ve amassed quite the knowledge around builds. I use a Scepter/Focus Fresh Air build in sPvP, and have even started 1v1 duels against other players (although I admit, it’s a 50/50 chance for me to lose against every player in the room). In PvE, I’m still getting around the works using a glass cannon Staff build, mainly getting pumped up for raids in the future. I’ve played with most weapon combos, with the only one I haven’t played with yet being Dagger/Focus and Dagger/Warhorn. I use Scepter/Warhorn in PvE for intense condition pressure, though I’ve traded that gear in for my current glass cannon Staff build.

As a teacher, I can offer guidance for many builds out there, though if it involves main hand Dagger, don’t ask me since I’m not a fan of it!

I can teach about every specialization type, from Fire to Tempest, in what they’re mainly used for and any niche uses they may provide to boost those obscure builds (e.g. Lightning Rod build).

I am also in love with testing builds, but this is only possible in sPvP as I am broke ingame. I don’t mind that though.

- Other Info: I’m more of a Druid/Guardian expert, so Ele is not my main, but I enjoy it/want to get more into it/and it is one of my fav classes to test stuff. I always go back n forth between Ele and Mes for my light armor love.

I also lead the Xtraordinary Slackers guild thus another reason ele is not my main ‘cause it’s a lot of work! :P

I mainly do Staff; fire DPS and Support; love healing; and Staff seems great for heals but I hear dagger/WH is great heal/support too; but I’ve been uncertain to try that but w/ changes maybe dagger/x is fun now. I mean it was fun before! I think for DPS I split too much Condi and pwr but it’s fun to burn more and zerk has gotten stale on my Guardian.

I’ve mained an Elementalist since launch (and in Gw1 before that). I specialize in Scepter/Warhorn (where teacher comes in) but am rather inexperienced in Dagger/Dagger-Focus (where student comes in). I played staff the first year or so, but it’s not my style. I love PvE and solo a lot of HoT areas with my ele. Personal Fractal level is 80 (getting the AR for higher). I do some WvW, mostly solo roaming but I’d love to spend more time in groups. I played auramancer in PvP for awhile but haven’t been into it since the spring. Elementalist has been my main since I started playing GW, excited to join!

I love this idea so count me in. Ele is my main since start and I have +4000 hours put into it, so I should be able to discuss various tactics. I haven’t done lot of raids but other than that I use rle in everywhere in PVE. I play lot of fractals also. I use all the weapons quite equally nowdays and like to experiment builds for PVP trying to figure effective build as a damage dealer or any other trickster than healbot which I dislike.

I consider myself an expert in Fresh Air and Power Staff (following [Qt] benchmarks, I consistently pull 98% of their optimal dps and am trying to close that gap) and absolutely love to theorycraft and build test. I am an avid fractal-goer and love bringing new people along/teaching fights.

I would love to play WvW, but I can’t find a build/playstyle that fits me (and who likes getting 3-shotted by a mesmer roamer?). I’ve been playing Ele since launch and find it the most fun of all the professions I’ve tried.

I rarely play the meta builds, as love finding that one build that works for my play style. Not what is ‘best/OP’ right now. Due to this, my builds are mainly around – how can I survive, by myself, in this very dangerous area (i.e. HoT)….. or how to do a group event by with just my partner and myself

I’ve loved ele through thick and thin though my entire time playing it since beta. More pvp oriented than pve, as I only do dungeons for pve, where as for pvp I theorycraft with the bigger pvp guilds for eles and ele counters. Time to time I do some solo roam in WvW when I’m in the mood to exploit cele and be chased down by zergs I somehow usually survive. Would love to fill people in on the art of ele since the class seems to be underplayed atm.

After some advice from the teachers/testers of the Guild.

Just leveled Connau to 80 by PS/PvE map completion. Currently running a D/D signet build (air/earth/arcane) using whatever gear I’ve gained through PS and leveling.

I’m enjoying the Elementalist profession have taken it up from playing a marauder shout guardian, but find myself struggling when up against multiple enemies.

What armor/runes/weapon stats would be the best to gain some much needed toughness without sacrificing too much DPS?

Got a 500 armor/weapon smith so crafting isn’t an issue.

the crusader stat spread has the best durability*damage, especially if you’re already packing a bunch of marauders
