It has come to my attention give my friends’ own experiences and mine that all people who rolled ele as the first and main tend to roll guardian next followed by mesmer, those two change order for some.

I just wanted to see if that trend also applies here, anyone?

True for me as well but I play neither my Guardian nor my Mesmer anymore (other than for crafting or parking them somewhere like the Quartz node).

nope. ele → thief → mesmer → necro → warrior. I regularly play all of them. Ele is the weakest by a decent margin.

ele → mes → guard → warrior → ranger → necro → thief for me. I still play ele the most cause I’m a masochist.

Ironically my mesmer became my favorite, even though it was the last class I tried. Though I was trying other classes to test them out instead of being bored with the other classes.

Of those, I hated elementalist and thief the first time around but loved them the second time. Guardian and ranger were always the easiest to level.

My second elementalist is Charr … and the main reason for the remake – she’s awesome.

That’s pretty eerie; I match this.

Elementalist(80) -> Guardian(80) -> Mesmer(80) -> Thief(80) -> now working on Engi(39)

Mostly play Guardian/Thief when I jump on an 80.

I think mine was engi -> ele -> war (ele and war could have been switched, can’t remember which way I created them at launch) -> guard -> ranger -> necro -> second war -> thief -> mesmer -> second ele. I also have a second engi and guard somewhere in there, can’t remember where in the chain I made them. All are 80, except the mesmer which is only 40, cause I really don’t like playing it. Newest is a lvl 25 ele. (yes I have that many characters). It started out with engi as main, then went to warrior as my main, then was focusing on ele as main, then went to my second warrior as main, and now back to my ele as main (first one to 100% map compeletion) (staff aoe for the win).

Ele, then made a Mesmer, back to Ele & then made a Huntard, back to Ele then made a Necro, back to Ele & made thief (which I now refuse to use because of how kittenedly op stealth & damage & mobility is) then made a Guardian, Ele again then a Warrior, Ele again & finally an Engie.

Necro is only used to go EB because easier to zerg then on ele (need those T7 pieces of crap…..)
Engie is solely for roaming, as is Ele, but confirmed my beliefs. Ele is an under powered piece of crap, but still the most fun by far.

Ele→Thief→Ranger→Delete ranger→Mesmer→Engineer→Remake Ranger and use it for storage→Necro

Yup. Its only good in zergs. Completely sucks (unless you’re d/d) as single/roamer.

I tried ranger and mesmer in the mists lobby but even there couldnt get into them, I don’t like pet classes or ones where I rely on an artificial intelligence. Guard was strong but I can’t play a “holy” themed character no matter how good it is.

I will most likely try engi again some day but for now I’m satisfied having one of each armor tier at 80 geared and am just going to ascend my ele.

I used to have a warrior but I couldn’t stand leveling it and the playstyle of no magic was just boring for me.

Release went with Necromancer. Was underwhelmed by lack of mobility in WvW and general WvW performance since it had basically zero killing power back then.

Rerolled an Engineer. Grenadier had it’s high moments and during those highs you felt unstoppable but they were pretty rare and the projectiles were super easy to avoid if someone knew you were there and kept mobile.

Tried an Ele but it just seemed terrible so went with Mesmer instead. Rode the Phantasm Mesmer high for a few months before they nerfed the crap out of Phantasms and made them require direct LOS (which caused all sorts of issues with little hills) and it was just awful for a while.

Went back to Ele and made it work with S/D for leveling then Lightning Hammer.

Someone on forums was saying Eles useless and Guardians are 10x the support so I made an 80 Guardian to test it and wasn’t very impressed. It was roughly the same only with no ranged options like the Ele. Ended up deleting it because it was incredibly boring to play.

Asura Ele got on my nerves after a while (animations are just too over the top) and I deleted him and remade into a Human Ele. I also deleted my Necro to take his name. So re-leveled another Ele and this time there were zero issues.

After all the Ele nerfs I caved in and made a Warrior because they seem to be pretty much this game’s golden class for PvE. Also I prefer the idea of an Axe/Hammer warrior over D/D for WvW.

I also finally remade my Mesmer into a Charr and deleted the Human Mesmer. Really prefer the animations and it looks cool as hell.

Also took my 1 year Anniversary scroll gift and made a 20 Necro again because why not. Guardian seems redundant with support Ele for WvW and I have zero interest in Thief/Ranger. Figure I might as well level him gathering since there’s a crapload of lower level mats that are selling for fortunes on the Tradepost atm.

Warrior (for name reserve, though 3 hours before release and my name was taken) → Ranger → Ele → Necro → Thief → Mesmer (unplayed) → Gaurdian … deleted to make room for engineer.

It is quite amazing how much easier the thief is at playing and to actually do great DPS without setting up combos or might stacking feels almost lazy mode.

Whats crazy is the Thief with healing signet/crit heal food and the assassins reward I have solo’d much harder content(two champs at a time and stuff for example) in this game then I ever did with my Ele and that is with almost full zerker. wtf

Thief → Ele. Recently been spending more time on my thief.

Thief → Guardian → Ele → Ele (2) → Ranger (stalled out at level 25) → Warrior (stalled at level 20 with scroll) → Engie (stalled at level 20 with scroll) → Necro (stalled at level 20 with scroll).

Sigh. I guess I’m an Ele lover at heart.

Ele, Necro, Engineer, Mesmer is probably next

I went Ranger → Ele → Thief

If I ever level another character it will probably be a Mesmer.

Holy shyt that is scary. I did that exactly as you said. No one told me too either I just did it that way. You scares me.

THAT IS TOTALLY ME! I started out as an Asuran Elementalist …stopped playing for a while…came back to Ranger (wish I hadn’t stuck with it till map completion) … made a Charr warrior then guardian and mesmer.

Ranger———> Necro———→Thief———> Guardian———> Mesmer———> Elementist———→ warrior———> Engineer———> Elementist

I found elementist was the only class that could truly keep my interest. Now if only we weren’t as squishy as a marshmellow over the campfire.

Ele → warrior. Maining warrior now.
I only log my ele for fractals, as I was dumb enough to level it to 50 and cbf getting my warrior’s level up (Fractal level should be acc bound -.-).
I still haven’t lost hope for the class I dearly loved, but it just sucks how all the damage through mightstacking, combo setups, perfect executions can be done with one single press of #2 on gs by warriors.
And on the topic of warriors/eles… Skilled eles are still beasts in pvp/1v1 with the s/d or d/d but staff.. just no. I literally took down 2 staff eles autoattacking with an axe. Healing is still great, utilities are okay (typical Lighting flash, mistform, Armour of earth), but the inherent low toughness, and low HP really kills this class in PVP.

Anet MUST give the ele something to fall back on; either give back the mobility or just improve the damage, toughness and whatever. I have never played anything other than ele and warrior, but through pvp I noticed every class has a backup plan just in case they make a mistake. Necros; the countless invuls? (deathshroud and etc), thief; stealth, blind, crazy shadowstep bs, guards; block block block block block, warrior; mobility to some degree, inherent HP and toughness.

Same for me, more or less. I recall picking mesmer after ele and guardian came shortly after. First time playing a mesmer, I sat in hotjoin all day using mantras. That was fun.
