Guild Wars 2

I am new to this class and I have found it very frustrating to level up/ do wvw. I have been keeping up with my armor and weapons as I level up, but it seems my damage is still low and I die easily without kiting. I am looking for a build that is good for a mixture of both wvw and pve for farming/leveling. I love the aoe aspect about this class, it’s just infeasible for me to gather up mobs to kill because I die so quickly.

I would run a D/D bunker build, something like 0/10/0/30/30. What kind of gear are you using?

PvE in this game is easy enough that you can gear specifically for WvW without worry.

monsters don’t care about bunker builds since all they really care about is killing you without worrying about survivability.
but tanking the average mobs and a vet every now and then is not worth using a bunker, now if you’re mostly wvw then go ahead; but leave the tanking to the guardians and warriors in pve. since a lot of mobs your tankyness would be good on would just 1 shot you anyways, eles still are the lowest hp and armor classes.

if you wanna do both then look at the traits and try to find what works for you best, not just copy pasting the cookie cutter build.

I just found staff very useful in soloing PvE once u know how to use it.
the traits: area atk with staff is larger is essential.
Im using 30 10 0 10 30
for fire increasing 10%damage and 20%faster recharge speed
for lighting. deal 20% more damage to less than 33%hp
for water. water skill recharge faster
for archa
get archan shield when 25% hp and vigor and dodge atk

Back to OP though, I use S/F for 90% PvE especially for boss fights.
Traits 0 25 0 25 20
Lightning – VI – IX
Water – V – IX
Arc – V – VII (For constant mob fights I use staff & trait V – VIII)

For WvW I run same build with staff and use VIII in arc for staff area.
+105% crit dmg
I don’t use fire traits simply because I’d rather have the extra hp and trait recharge.
Full beserker spec, hardly die with s/f because earth 4 & 5 are like extra cantrips. I use lightning flash, armor of earth, and arcane wave for my utilities.
