So after watching the stream pretty much all ele specs are going to have like a 0% chance against a reaper. You are basically locked out of attunement swapping and an ele that cant swap is as good as dead. Kinda harsh that we are the only class that can have our class mechanic countered to such a degree.

Hope they remove Chill working on Attunements.

Every elementalist weapon outranges reaper attacks. Ele can counter reapers with snares and kiting. Burning precision and blinding ashes will counter reapers. You can prevent chill pretty easily and remove it when it is applied. The strongest chill reapers have will be a trait necros already have, that free unavoidable spinal shivers.

Ranged damage (or more “ranged” than reaper), a large ability to clean conditions, very good movement skills. no morefight against a ranged DS AA but only against a melee RS AA, good CC skills, blind and invulnerability skills. Why are feared by the reaper?
A necro can kill a ele because with the DS AA can hit hard and ranged. If it become melee you have no problems to stay away and wait for the right moment and all the skills of the RS can be easy to avoid (only the AA is fast and the movement skill isn’t a real movement skill because the “dash” it give is a slow dash that you can outrun with swiftness and easy to see and dodge/blind/CC/activa a immunity, the same for all the other skills).

I think that the ele have already a good counter game for the reaper specializzation (and we have always to see how good is the ele specializzation!)

I don’t see a reaper been stronger than the traditional fearmancer.

Reaper can be easily kited. On top of that, I suspect Ele will get counters for tanky professions and more kiting options.

Tempest will be getting sword, most likely. Hard to kite with that.

Sword is always a positioning-centered weapon. Across all professions.

Yeah, cause auto spinal shiver necro – 6K AA isnt a counter, SD thief doesnt have to spamm 2 to rip appart all your boon while evading everything, ranger cant kite you to death with trap and high chill uptime ,etc.

By the way, rock paper scissor is the worst way to balance a game … just saying.

About reaper:
I think it will be a nice counter but not an heavy one.

Didnt anyone get the memo? The ele is going to become the most powerful aura bot in game.

Erm… Opposite. Assuming the tempest weapon is sword and melee the general thought was all current eles will be fine against them, only a melee Ele might have some real issues. But even then, an elite specialization doesn’t automatically equate to having to use the unlocked weapon.
