Q:
Ele in the current meta
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/elementalist/Guide-DPS-Elementalist-for-PvE/first all ele builds for pve are here. If you don’t like squishy, you’re in the wrong place though.
Ele is top tier in pve these days— most optimized parties should have at least two, and sometimes even three or four, per dungeon.
what about pvp and wvw, any ideas on those?
Ele is even squishier than thief and takes even more skill to play effectively than anything. Probably not a very good second choice
For PvE, Dekeys guide is pretty much the best and more complete you can find.
For sPvP, i have no idea, never played my ele there.
For WvW, staff with x/x/x/6/6 trait is the standard basic build. With a mix of soldier/zerker/knight for gear. That’s not the best build, since it doesn’t have that much dps, but that’s a good starting point as you get better you can put more pts in fire and get more offensive gear.
In wvw, the Dagger ele is also popular with focus or off-hand dagger.
It can be power, condition or hybrid.
And you can find some Scepter burst build usually with 6 in Air.
In sPvP the celestial D/D ele is “meta” (I hate this word).
You can see some scepter and staff build too.
Second question: I think the elementalist is very “important” profession let it be wvw zerg (staff nuker-healer-CC), sPvP (bunker or roamer) or might-stacking DPS in dungeons (D/F or S/F, sometimes staff)…
And I don’t think ele is squishy… It uses active mitigation instead of the thief’s stealth-teleport-blind. Protection, stability, invul, evade, heal, CC, positioning gives the “tankiness”. (you can see elementalists in the middle of a hammertrain… Even as commanders… This says a bit about how squishy is this profession if build for bunker…)
Ele is hard to play but very rewarding and a skrittload of fun!
I’m not an expert. At all.
Just my 2 cents…

So if I was to level a D/D ele with celestial gear, I could go WvW and PvP with the same gear since that build is proven to work in both cases as you mentioned correct? that’s great if i got that correctly..
The stats on your armour do not matter in PvP, as PvP uses a build separate from the one you use in PvE/WvW. As long as you are wearing armour + have the correct type of weapon equipped (ex staff, daggers, etc), you determine the stats using a PvP amulet in the build editor.
So yes, you can take your celestial gear to both, but just letting you know it doesn’t really matter lol.
Zvezdana & Dana Uses Splash; Elementalist // Evegeniya; Engineer // Melinoe; Necromancer
Well, your gear in the sPvP is ABSOLUTELY independent from the gear you wear in PvE or WvW…
And you cannot level an ele in celestial, it’s only for 80 characters.
BTW the D/D is very good for leveling. I was surprised how good it is actually.
My advice: craft Toughness/vitality gear as armour. If you solo the toughness aggro won’t hurt you. In wvw it will help a lot… I mean a LOT. In edge of the mist I had my ele with 25k HP and 2400 armour… Damage=zero, but with staff…. I was usefull.

I meant PvE and WvW guys I’m well aware of the PvP system, my bad god distracted so sorry.
So my original question was: a d/d – d/f Ele with celestial build will be good and useful for dungeons/fractals and WvW in the same time?

yeah a good proportion of eles run celestial for WvW on all sorts of builds. But for dungeons and fractals you’re gimping yourself if you don’t run all or mostly zerker. So just have two armor sets, one for pve and one for wvw, and swap them out for each type of content.
