I main Ele in PVP, a while now, not sure how many hours i have, im not pro im one of those mediocre guys playing in pvp w a class they like.
Anyhow since the patch hit i voiced alot of my oppinion on negative side of changes and nerfs to us. We still suck no worries, but hey at least we have one entire role where we can excel..
Anyhow here it is, music was random nightcore set playing on my second screen, this is my first ever upload so don’t be too rough on me.
Anyhow im just happy i can showcase that we DON’T ENTIRELY SUCK! We are good support at least.. even tho we do very little damage..

I think most complaints stem from exactly that. Ele is stuck at support for a while now and it’s kinda all they can do. So I’m not sure this will do anything but reenforce the complaints.

Problem my friend…the class was not advertised as GW2 version of the MonK, AKA the description of the class say completely otherwise, right now the class is entirely being balanced around the support role, everything else around it it’s or has already been nerfed to the ground and made completely unusable.

I do understand that, im simply outlining the only build that works atm. Its hard enough finding good builds for the state in which Ele is now, but hey at least we have 1 working now..
I do want a damage build that would not die to thief AA in 2 seconds but unless Anet fixes something we will have to be forced to play a support role.
In my oppinion we should have all 3 viable ones, Power, condi and support not just one at a time.
For now im just happy with a working build, one that doesn’t get me flamed, or leaves me feeling bad for not beeing able to contribute to my team properly..

My problem is, I fell in love with D/D from Daphoenix days, so don’t accuse to me to being a FoTMer, I played the D/D in its highest and lowest days, I never deserted my beloved spec, even it sucked more then one year.

It is again in the same state but this time I have no nerves to take the same punishment, so I am looking other classes similar to Ele, mainly Engi and Druid.

If someday D/D will be viable again I will play it but noway I will play that brain dead 0 damage cleric E/W/T.

Oh, the glory days of staff ele spvp where you run in circles in a never ending sustain rotation while blowing sweet kisses at everybody slamming you for damage, praying on each solo queue that you land in a good team that will actually come over and kill all these kittens for you.

Being super tanky for being viable is not an option for me. Every class can do this.
I prefer dealing dmg.

I don’t really want to give up my class because it doesn’t deal enough damage, or has enough sustain to actualy deal significant damage.
If the only role we can play is support, then il try to do the best i can in it and not jump ship to other class.
Every class can be tanky, but ele brings CC to the table. : )

That you spammed your skills, missed your skills, random dodged, clicked your skills, ran around against people who were standing on a node afk and then proceed to feed and throw the game?

The fact that I stalled 2 people on enemy home point got us a win from a 100point dissadvantage..

You should probably reread what I said.

Unranked? Also I thought the aura build is D/f.

BTW you should consider swapping attunement with the keys at the least. And practice in general not clicking skills it has a huge pay off:)

Yes its unranked, but we were at a dissadvantage entire match. I have a normal mouse nothing too fancy, considered getting a better one with more keys but can’t atm..

I used playstv app from raptr, initialy i wanted to upload a video there, but after 24hours of video processing, another upload which again did not work i simply uploaded to youtube and video was available within 30mins.

Though playstv app does a good job of preping the vid for upload :P

Also i used to use dagger/focus-warhorn but i use staff atm because it brings more CC to the table an AoE heals which are slightly better for my style of play. Though the lack of damage is noticable…

Indeed i agree that Ele is in a bad place, it should be viable to play in more then one role, but its not. As you can notice i don’t rly kill anyone. My build involves power, but not crit chance, its more for peeling off on point and providing support and CC to my team.

That said the build only shines with a good team that does more damage then your standard team since they need to compensate for my lack of damage.
But with a good team the payout is great as you keep them alive through most of enemy damage while they kill off enemy players.

Its also very frustrating to play when you get people who don’t know how to play their class then you really can’t do much, you try to keep them alive but they usualy succumb to a class they should be superior to. That said its not helping when i can’t deal as much damage as someone who would, but even if i was a damage dealing class it usualy would not help since matches are usualy 500/200…
Anet do something and make ele more viable then just a healbot..

fyi a dev mentioned in a guild chat stream once that he and other players will assign buttons as a 2 button activation. for instance my heal skill is shift + 1 and my elite is shift + 5. i use a 10$ usb logitech keyboard and mouse. i also use anets ICM now, and I put my dodge roll on my scroll wheel click. try it out, after a few hours practicing you feel you will have much more control of your avatar
