Elemental Attunement
Guys, I don’t mean to advertise but for the good of the elementalist community you should take a look at two suggestions I made (link in my sig). Consider them thoroughly and if you think like me that they would give us just what we need to fix our class then please post to support them.

hi im a infrequent ele player (playing gw2 on and off) but from playing ele I was just wondering
this trait -> elemental attunement
When attuning to an element, you and all nearby allies gain:
Fire: might
Water: regeneration
Air: swiftness
Earth: protectionI was wondering why this trait wasn’t naturally part of our class mechanic (like automatically have it without having to trait to get this)
I mean if this became a part of our class mechanic, wouldn’t this encourage attunement swapping more for newer players? (I mean when I first started a year ago I didn’t really find a drive to switch to the different elements til later levels)
But obviously now I understand that we are heavily reliant on changing attunements to perform to normal standardsI feel that if this passively became part of our attunement swap
then that would clear up a free adept slot for something else. (i just feel this trait should have been part of our class mechanic making it more beneficial than just another weapon swap)
+1 and bumping as well.
:)
+1 – Bump! Make Elemental Attunement standard (to self only) and change the trait to apply boons to nearby allies.
Elemental attunement is a borderline grandmaster trait. It is extremely useful. And I don’t believe we should get it for free. I wasn’t super happy about it moving to master tier. But it was reasonable. This is the best master trait for ele hands down. Couldn’t live without it.
someone made a suggestion making it passive but limited to the ele and the trait just makes it aoe

Yeah that was me. I keep making suggestions and they keep banning me. Eh.
Nameless One:
ANet’s very Merry wintersday release:
" The goal of this release for the elementalist was to increase the power of the Earth Magic, Air Magic, and Fire Magic trait lines, while taking away some of the need to go into the Arcana line. "
So the Elemental Attunement was moved to Master which is essential for all Ele’s. Therefore, this is contrary to their goal.
Furthermore, Ele is undeniably underpowered in PvP and WvW (good in PvE) so any buff we get would be much needed for PvP and WvW.
Thank you
Also remember that time when I was complaining about lingering elements and they acknowledged that adept minor traits are very useless for air and fire, and that they would work on them?
Couldn’t live without it.
…which is why it should be baseline (solo version).
It is an essential part of any serious pvp build.

+1 and bump!
Also make lingering elements part of the 1 point arcana trait and replace lingering elements with renewing stamina. These three changes alone would provide a whole new world of possibilities for the elementalist.
For the love of all that is holy, +1 this post so Anet gets the idea
Anet doesn’t really read the class forums, sadly
You might have better luck in the balance forums, and post a link to it from here so everyone can go +1 it.
Character name: Azilyi
i could just as easily argue that the minor master tier traits or lingering elements should be an instrinsic elementalist function
+1 this post guys, if Elemental Attunement becomes a passive part of this class, and their is a fixed amount of 10 seconds for attunement recharge, then anet will finally have accomplished what they were aiming for in the wintersday patch.
Bump for great justice.
Bump for great justice.
Careful with that sentence: the last person I know who used it turned out to prefer tyranny and abuse of power!
My only issue is consistency with other class mechanics and boons. The only class mechanic that gives you a boon is guardian f3 which gives you aegis. Nobody else gets a boon on their class mechanic.
I see why people would want it to be inherent but at the same time it just isn’t consistent with anything else in the game. If they moved boons to weapon skills I could see that because that is something in the game but just on the mechanic I don’t know.
I think protection is the main reason why elemental attunement is so popular I think they should just give prot on aura’s inherent and that would solve alot of issues every weapon setup has a aura.
