Elemental Suggestions/Bugs that need fixing.

Lightning Whip still behaves strangely when in motion. Often times I can’t hit stationary objects within range if I’m moving. Other times, I can’t hit them if I’m standing still. Occasionally it misses enemies one second and the next, target still in the same relative position, and it hits.
It’s just overall wonky. If it was an aoe attack the weird conical hit zone would make sense, like Wave of Wrath on the guardian’s staff, but seeing as it’s a single target attack, it shouldn’t have nearly this much trouble.
This is true, in motion the attack miss a lot, lighting touch and fire grasp have the same problem, you and your target need to be stationary or moving forward.

There is a huge issue to, actually all builds out there request to have at least 5 points into arcane for the trait Elemental attunnement, it feels like forced with all the attunnement dancing.
Yeah. Our classes mechanic is stance dancing so we are almost forced to go down into that line some ways if we want to succeed and lower our high CD on stance changing. I don’t see other classes with whole trait lines that have such an impact on their entire mechanic.

Well if I have to be infracted too then go right ahead because I’ve banged my head against the nerfs since BWE2 and an entire profession are begging for an answer from ArenaNet.

This is what pickles me a lot, Anet can take the time to infract/close threads but can’t actully post that they have read one and passed it along and that it will be looked at.
I’m all for understanding not getting replies from suggestions right now, but the main thing we have here is a lot of broken skills (some since the beta) and as yet we have no idea at all if they are even aware of them or are working on them.
And ask yourself this, of the few skills that are broken in a basic way (signet of fire, arcane power) how long would it actully take to fix them?. SoF has a range issue – it can’t be that hard to make it match the other signets range can it?, and Arcane power only crits 2 times instead of 5 – again how hard can it be to make it crit 5 instead of 2?.

I just want an answer like “yes we know xyz elemental skills are broken and they are getting fixed”, and it would also be nice to have “and yes we know that your profession is getting left out of group quests and certain PvP, this is clearly a balance issue and is being looked into aswell” – this took me under 30 seconds to type so i can’t understand why Anet can’t do the same.

I may be alone in this but when I play my ele, I put down conjured weapons specifically for other people to use. And when some random person walks up and takes the hammer I put down for them, and then charges into battle with it.. it just makes me happy.
I love throwing down the Greatsword for that very reason. It’s fairly powerful, too.
I also like using the conjured weapons and when someone picks them up I’m like alright! wo0t!
- Arc Lightning, the cast doesnt stop once the target is dead or when changing targets.
^^^This is very annoying! I have to click on it a couple of times to make it stop, also when I change to the fire element sometimes it still does it!
- Switching to Air is considered an attack, when you switch it can start to auto attack a nearby target.
^^^This is also something that sucks, I’m running and want to switch to use ride the lightning so that I can get somewhere faster and then I auto attack a nearby friendly deer/moa or whatever and now I have to stop and kick it’s butt and all it’s buddies. -_-"
- Make it so if using a Conjured weapon if you are downed when you get back up (within the weapons time limit) that you still actully have the weapon, it’s really annoying to use the fiery greatsword (for example), get downed within 10 seconds or so and then have to wait a full 3 minutes to use it again due to this.
^^^ sucks big time! I had to bump ’cause these bugs suck!

I’m getting a lot of infractions for this lol.
I hope the mods and community managers and other professionals who see this note that I just want our class to be playable. I apologize if any post was against the code of conduct.
On another note I was told that these are looked at, though a post saying such wouldn’t be a bad idea.

A possible workaround the arc lightning (when not stopping) is to sheath your weapon, stops it every time ^^ But I agree, a workaround is not the best way to “fix it”. Also lots of these bugs need fixing, so here`s hoping for that
Another important bug is that underwater, the autoattack of Air and Earth loves to aim incorrectly and shoot above the target instead of straight at them, missing entirely. At point blank.
Also, a beneficial bug, the first minor Water trait affects nearby allies without using the major trait that’s supposed to enable it.

Ele is not a pet class, but it absolutely suffers the same issues plaguing Necro AI pets. The pause between summoning an elemental and them finally attacking is significant, and given they only last 60 seconds anyway you’re probably going to be summoning them at the start of combat
All the other bugs I’ve noticed fall in line with those outlined here. Anecdotally, a large number of Ele skills just feel “off”. Things such as attacks continuing or targeting outside of your control, skills which pop a cooldown but appear to have no effect, skills that seem to cancel early or late…things of that nature.
What’s most surprising is that I have not seen any issues like that with any other class. The closest comparison, mechanics-wise, is probably the Engi, and none of his skills suffer from broken mechanics like the above.
Surprised the OP doesn’t mention the lack of underwater elites. The alternate form of Tornado – Whirlpool – doesn’t show up and is not equippable underwater in PvE.

Anet have already stated this is being fixed so there was no point in putting it in, and i reached the character limited and couldn’t add anything else to the post.

OP, you forgot to mention something about meteor shower: Make the damage consistent. Right now, from what I’ve observed, the meteors seem to fall at random locations. If enemies (up to the max limit of 5) were actually auto-targeted by a meteor whenever they were inside the field, then meteor shower would be more useful in PvE.
At this point in time we should start by asking for bug fixes and to fix the entirely broken skills/traits that we have. For all I know we might be a balanced class if over half of our skills worked as intended. (though I kinda doubt it)

Posted the same thing myself at one point. Yes it does appear we are UP – but if all our skills worked, maybe just maybe we wouldn’t be that bad.
