An elementalist has too much sustain. In a 1v1 battle versus a zerker of any kind they cannot die, yet they cannot kill. Playing against tempest eles is so utterly boring.

If elementalist had too much sustain..it’d be great because that means we could go zerker as well and maintain a decent level of survivability, the main problem however is that ele has no middle ground, you either go full healing power kitten and never die ..but do no dmg or you zero to medium healing power and die to everything as they can outsustain you

Ofc all this count just for PvP, in wvw I can still play a semi zerker ele and do fine ( s/w roamer )

Generally speaking ele in pvp it’s boring to play and to play against, it’s unbelievable frustrating so much that after reaching legendary I just gave up on PvP ; try to play healbot for weeks and you’ll see for yourself that it’s anything but fun

At this point I have no suggestions left, GW2 is a complete mess and ele would require more than simple nerfs/buffs to work as class fun to play with and against, I’m talking about reworks, something which will never happen

Ele can be burst down with power or condi. Rev and Mes is especially good for killing ele. But your right it is no fun to play

Yes condi mesmer can reaper can do it. I play a bit diffrent and power can´t do it well.
I still play more offensive and like it. Shure its not meta and i have noticable less healing/support in the larger teamfights 4/5 players, but its more fun and i win most smaller ones. In the larg is already totaly unpredictable in solo Q so it doesnt matter. Better i kill my target.
I disagree taht it will need a full rework. But its a lot of tweaks that should be done to traits and underperforming skill/utilities and i also doupt that someone will ist down and do it. Its propably two days of work if you know the class well …….

You should have seen eles before the APril 15th update- I joke! because noone played eles before April 15th update.

Eles have been forced back into the “support” corner. Don’t be so quick to grab your pitchfork and torch and scream OP because you met a decent support ele.

I don’t see the problem with this.

If they cannot kill you but cannot kill them one vs one, isn’t that the entire balance of a healer? A healer should be able to outheal raw damage and at that point it comes down to proper CC and whatnot.

Sure, it may not be fun, but if you are sitting there whacking away 1v1 at a bunker healer, you are also not optimally playing your DPS char.

well, yes…

Problem is, theres no other build for ele that works. Ever tried an amulet without very high amounts of healing power (so anything other than clerics or menders) on an ele? It’s bottom tier trash. Ele always relied on it’s sustain to win 1v1’s, with cele amu gone, clerics/menders is the only choice, since the ele benefits more from higher amounts of healing power than from higher amount of DMG-stats in basically every MU.

But I’m sure the same ppl that cry about ele being too tanky were the ones that wanted to get rid of cele amu, where the ele was actually fun to play and most MU’s required skill.

I’m not asking for a nerf y’all.
I would like to see a rework to make other builds more viable.

Currently with the state of things, any half-brained ele is able to out sustain any class in a 1v1. For most eles, a 2v1 is necessary to kill them, but even with that it will take time to bring their health down.

I would like to see more eles using power/condi builds so that they are actually killable haha.

But the Problem is exactly the opposite of what you’re saying: Ele heals aren’t too high, they are too low – on low healing power numbers that is.

They should just get rid of clerics (I’m baffled why they didn’t already) and boost the ele’s heal (mostly on low healing power numbers) and I mean boost it a lot!

i am with you :-). While i like not to die on a burst i already trade healing for damage. As a result focus on me with a necro in the attacking group is splat. I live and die with protection. I don´t trait water so i have much less healing. Also no regeneration. I endure due to damage mitigation from armor + protection + weakness + blind + dodge with a bit healing from elemental bastion. And i am still surprised myself how long this can hold me alive without being the healbot ….
I like my build. Its no bunker and no burst. It does sustained damage and absorbs bursts. Sure i am not meta becaue i can´t heal as much as the meta cleric but i win most fights below 4+5 players on one side. It shines in 2:2. What happens often is i can swallow the burst even against two till one arives for a 2:2 and then win. But i can´t carry a mid fight of 4:4 with my healing like meta. So it´s build for the smaller fights better in the 1 + 2 about same in 3 and falls back in 4+5 larger battles. This is logic because i add damge but group heal less. In a 2:2 we kill a target fast while the other 2 can´t kill due to my mitigation. In a 4:4 fight my damage is only a very small part compared to e.g. revenants. While i still mitigate damage some skills are often redundant (weakness, protection) and my healing is less then half of the cleric ele which is spread over the whole group.
When i play people somtimse make mitakes due to this. They think i am the healbot that can´t win 1:1. But i kill that thief/ranger/DH on point faster than most other classes and this results in someone needless trying to help XD. This is why i often state i am not meta i am hybrid in chat. Still doesnt help ^^.

What i would like to see is a buff to tempestous aria, fire line and underperforming utilities like arcane and scepter. A nerf to powerful aura like 10s ICD after the buffs.

Shure they can remove clerics and maybe mercenarys and then oh hmmm.. OK we remove menders .. wait this dam carrion is overperforming on class XX .. remove it ….
Lets bring down diversity. Why is there a skill and equipement system? Just give 9 fixed buils and let the game bleed out to introduce GW3 …
