So, Staff or Scepter/Dagger for general PvE?

I’v heard good things about staff, but i wanted your opinion!

I’ve been debating that particular question way too much lately. Just pick whatever you like more, they both do great right now.

You can do anything you want in pve. I usualy like staff because the combat tempo is so enjoyable with it, it´s like strolling through a park after pvp.

Most of my experience was with staff, my weapon of choice for many months. Then I decided I’d pick a Legendary to get and the staff option was dire for us, all mesmery and stuff. So I made Meteorlogicus!

While I was farming for it, I forced myself into playing Scepter/Dagger. I tried my best, failed. Meteorlogicus lived in the bank for two months. During that time I experimented a bit with dagger/dagger. But it just didn’t right as a caster.

Then someone said to me, trait for Fresh Air, stop running that bunker build! Low and behold my Ele felt brand new! Meteorlogicus came out of hiding, I discovered that focus was a weapon I enjoyed as a caster, and it gave some great PvE centric abilities. I don’t think I will be going back unless staff gets a maaaajor boost.

ANet obviously approved of this move, as they made my Meteorlogicus all shiny a month later! So the moral of this story is, experiment. Find what you enjoy. Test your damage (both burst, and consistency) – but if I was ever going to recommend a weapon set – it would be Scepter/Focus.

Full soldier ascended trinkets
Zerk weapons
Damage foods!
