Elementalist S/D or D/D after Dec 10 patch?
My guess would be s/d since new arcane wave will become part of your ranged burst instead of melee. I guess this is a slight buff to fresh air.
classic dd 0 10 0 30 30 will be stronger, here some reason:
new Soothing Wave trait, combined with cleansing water (that has no internal cd in wvw), and maybe the fixed stop drop and roll, will add great regeneration uptime and strong passive condition removal (since most condition builds make us of critical strikes).
new healing skill is a blast finisher, if built properly with decent healing, an ele can sustain himself enough and make use of this new blast to increase his might stacks or on water fields for his team.
Some nerf to other classes (example warrior hammer nerf) makes dd stronger as hammer warriors are a pain for us.
S/D fresh air will be viable and stronger too, didn’t have time for full analisys now, maybe I will ad informations later
What would be a viable build for WvW after the December 10. As of now Im using S/D mostly fresh air build.
I believe both well end up being stronger.
The classic D/D becomes stronger with the other class nerfs, and if your willing to take a little risk the new healing skill should provide either decent might stacks or if running with a ranger or staff ele in a water field will provide extra healing.
The S/D fresh air build will become stronger as not being able to have to go far into arcane. But also S/D will have open a new build with the changes to the fire trait line. I believe a 25/15/0/0/30 or 25/0/0/15/30 or adding to the fresh air build will be 25/30/x/x/x will be a good burst builds.

Do you still go 30 into Arcane for d/d build though? Or do you pull off a new combo with the changes say the suggestive 0/30/0/30/10?

D/D Aura share with tempest defense is very appealing of course; only useful WvW for small team roaming while s/d fresh air is great all around for its ranged single target DPS.
Most ele will give up 1 small heal to spec into the new traits, either from not putting 15 in water or 30 in arcane. I think aura share is probably the route to go here as it will probably save more damage to your team than evasive arcana can heal (I’ve whiffed that dodge roll too many times, or only hit 1 teammate) as well as giving them fury.
Could always just keep the same build of course

I might try a 0/30/0/30/10 build with sd, people are saying that because of the patch, we’re not required to go all the way in arcana anymore and always a relief
