Elementalist Skills not working
As a follow-up to the above, I haven’t used Glyph of Renewal much, but when used recently, it correctly teleported the player and revived them when attuned to air. However, I also think it should work on dead, not just downed players.
As for Lightning Flash, I have the same issues. Other equivalent skills like the engineer’s jump skill, the mesmer’s blink, the thief’s shortbow skill, all work across gaps, but lightning flash doesn’t. This is really unfair to the elementalist players. We are the squishiest class in the game, and not being able to use this skill to get away from mobs is a major pain and makes the skill less useful than it is. Yes, if you are a double dagger player you can use it to pre-cast and then jump into a mob, but if you are not, and wish to use it as an escape, it is not nearly as good as it should be.
Thief’s shortbow doesn’t work across gaps, no teleport/shadowstep does. They all only work if you target somewhere you can walk to with no jumps.
I have noticed the same things, in fact it seems the lightning flash skill is pretty much a skill filler and not useful for anything.. why would I need to teleport 5 feet from where I currently am on the same level ground?? sigh
i had it in a working state a few times , the deal with this glyph is it should be able to bring dead not downed people back to life,
im certain that it worked at the time cause i tried it on magg in CoF and it worked to res him while he was dead… i also tried it with 5 npc’s dead on the ground while on earth atunement and it ressed 3 npc’s..
but then again this is once in the 5000000000 times that it works…
i hope they will fix this asap cause the skill really is usefull..
About Glyph: It revives dead NPC because they don’t have a downed state, but on players it revive only downed ones, not dead.
I agree it needs a shorter cooldown.

It was changed on purpose, dunno why, maybe to prevent the res of dead players in WvWvW. I do agree that it should have a shorter cooldown, but thats something for the suggestions forum.

Lightning Flash is not bugged, it just work like all teleporting skills ie you can only teleport to a place if you can walk to this place.
And imo it is one of the better ele skills and i always use it because in GW2 mobility is realy usefull. And the good thing about lightning flash is that you can use it while channeling.
Lightning Flash and other teleports used to be able to port you across gaps in beta, but this enabled us to get to so many places we weren’t supposed to (inside keeps in WvW, outside of the map in like every map ever, etc.), thus why it was changed.
