Elementalist Survivability
this is a pretty good build that gives good survivability.
try it out. it has nice healing, and defense and good boons. you are an ele tho which means u have low base HP however
once you get experienced enough other classes will tell you that you have to much survivability. the way i would spend my first trait points would be: 10 arcana and take the “boon on atunement change” than 10 in air for zephyr’s boon. when you unlock your 2nd skillbook (lvl 40+) get water 15. that should help you alot i think.
I’m simply explaining why I’m right.
If you’re still leveling up… levels 15 through 30 are pretty tough for Elementalist survivability. I died a LOT in that range.
Go for toughness and vitality (on the rare case where you choose armor rather than letting it drop). Learn to dodge well. Pick your battles carefully. Run with people around you. Pick areas which are slightly below your level.
That level range comes and goes, and you’ll find yourself in a Much Better place.

IMO we have better survivability then other classes not the best but better then other ones even if you’re not bunker you can just dodge into water(if trait-ed) then cleansing wave attune to air ride to the lightning and ride away following by burning speed if needed and be sure to key-bind “Look behind” you can see if they are still following you.
Lets be fair, its only one build (d/d) that people say makes Ele
so hard to kill. What about every other possible combination?
Personally, Im a GC staff ele in WvW and I rely on map awareness
for my survivability. I stay with the zerg, and am always aware of
my surroundings for nearby enemies (and always have an escape route).
When traveling in the open world, I use the dagger for Ride the Lightning,
to stay ahead of nearby roamers.
