Elementalist Tips needed
There’s an in-depth elementalist dungeon/fractal guide here.
As for keybinds … it’s honestly what you’re comfy with. Tons of people hate the default F1-4, but that’s what I’ve always used for my attunements. A gaming mouse (with buttons on the side) does help, but imo isn’t necessary.
I personally use 1-4, Z, C, R, T and G for my other skills. Turn w/ mouse.

Keybinds are incredibly important. You must be able to hit your skills quickly without moving your hand too much. I use different bindings for different classes. For ele, my bindings are more focused on attuenements. I have fire bound to e, Air bound to Q, earth to C, and water to R. My 1 skill is bound to F, and the rest of the weapon skills are on 1-4, except for % which is on X. Heal is on 5. My utilities are on my mouse buttons 4-6, and my elite is on my mouse 7. Most of it comes as preference. Find what you find comfortable and stick with it. And rememeber that it’s going to take a while to get used to new bindings. You will die b/c you mess up trust me. But then you’ll get used to it and it’ll be so much better!

The default keybinds are terrible, here is my advice:
RDFG=move
ETCVB=1-5 skills
Z=jump
SPACEBAR=dodge
S=heal
3456=attunements
W=tab target
YHNJ=utilities
and you have many keys available around this area to map all your needs

I’m using the following setup, pretty much vanilla, I think it’s just down to getting used to it, most of the time I rather having troubles with the attunements 1 second CD simply because I actually try to swap around faster.
F1, F2, F3, F4 – Attunements;
WASD – Moving around;
12345 – Skills;
Q – Healing;
E – Dodge;
ZXC – Utilities, where Z is the least used utility, X & C utility skills from lower to higher priority respectively;
V – Elite skill;
T – Closest enemy;
Space – Jump;
TAB – TeamSpeak push-to-talk button.
An infinite no of peeps can give an infinite no of keybind sets ups…
I use a custom wsad setup with attunements on z, x, c, v. Skills on Q, Shift-Q, E, Shift-E, R (heal n utilities are mouse bound). Change weapon on mouse, dodge on mouse.
But to OP’s actual query – I don’t think it’s viable to play “click n’ play”. Especially with ele – there numerous things without cast time/animation or moves that can be done simultaneously that I cannot see anything but pain by pure clicking.
However, if it works for you then it works I guess. Whatever floats yer boat. I just think that boat’d be better with keybinds…
I play with a xbox controller using a program called pinnacle. Another GW2 player made a great profile for it.
left trigger activates mouse move
right trigger press and release is interact
right trigger hold is double click
Left stick is movement (aswd)
left stick click is dodge
left stick hold is heal
right stick is mouse move/look
back is map toggle
start is esc
right bumper hold is select target
A is jump
press x is ‘1’ hold x is ‘7’
press y is ‘2’ hold y is ‘8’
press b is ‘3’ hold b is ‘9’
logo button is elite
direction pad is up=f1, left = f2, right=f3, down =f4
Or you can buy razer orbweaver and/or razer naga. You will fall in love with this setup and it will give you like +10 on how good you can perform with your char, in any mmorpg game. You have so many keys that I can’t think of any game in which you are able to use full potential of this setup. I mean, keyboard also has many keys, but in my opinion it’s not very comfortable to use it and what is the most important thing – every key can be used easily and fast. I know they might be quite expensive, but once you buy them you will never go back to your keyboard. I used to play on razer blackwidow, but even if orbweavers keys are worse it’s compensated by how fast and easily you ckittene your skills.
Sorry for a little offtopic.

I have to agree with this guy/gal. I also have a orb weaver(stealth), and naga. Wouln’t ever go back to a normal kb and m set up. My set up are 0-9 skills are on the side of the naga, and attunements are on the joystick of the orbweaver.
^I don’t find the naga necessary for my skills (in GW2 anyway, not enough of them) but I do use it for mapping “look behind” which is super important when you’re kiting/running in PvP. Also have weapon swap on mouse but that’s irrelevant for ele.
