Hey !

I’m actually thinking about crafting my own ascended gear and weapons as i am still with only exotic (except for jewelry), but i don’t know what to craft.

I’m actually really tanky, i don’t die that much while i’m doing wvw, but i feel like i’m doing really low damage. I’m not only roaming, i’m playing with my guild, so sometimes we’re doing 20-30+ guys raid

So, as i want to go for ascended gear, i wanted to know what i could change in my build, to have nice damage, but also having vitality and thoughness, and maybe some healing power.

I’ve enough laurel to buy only 7 recipes, so i need to be really sure before buying.

Every build that i found were weird to me, but maybe if you give me your build and explain me why it’s nice, it will be usefull to me ^^

I’ll link mine. This is the solo roaming setup when I know I am going to be fighting 1v1 1v2s. The elite gets switched out to FGS for mobility quite often. When I run in a group, I will switch Armor of Earth for Frost Bow and the Elemental for Tornado.

As for why… well, Celestial armor is annoyingly time-consuming to make, but is totally adaptable. Instead of carrying armor sets, I carry trinket sets. I change them on the fly based on what I am doing and how I am performing. If I want to push more damage and I am feeling more dangerous, I will change some or all of those trinkets out for Zerker. The armor just works in pretty much everything I do.. and I have no desire to make a second set.

In fact, the only time I ever switch the armor out is when I am doing fractals, when I go exotic zerk for the damage output.

Fun fact: Rings/Ammy from WvW, Accessories from Guild Commendations, crafted backs. It costs almost nothing to acquire sets of them with different stats. Asccended armor is crazy expensive.

How much gold does it take to make an ascended set for D/D? I’m getting my tailoring up currently. Just hit 300, woo! I have the recipes for ascended celestial as I knew that’s what I wanted for a roaming build and even for group content with D/D or even a staff. Metabattle recommended soldier gear for staff back lining. Does that sound right?

What can I craft via tailoring to raise money for ascended gear? I also want a zerker set for PvE and LS content. Can I craft exotics at a certain point do I have that to work with while waiting for ascended?

Your build looks really nice to me actually, but do you think that exactly the same build as the one with zerk jewelry, but with power/vitality/thoughness for both dagger instead of zerk dagger would work ?
This way i wouldn’t need 2 jewelry setup, and i wouldn’t loose that much damage i guess, but gaining a bit of tankyness i believe.

Metabattle’s backline recommendation is what i would call a “SAFE” ALL CAPS option. If you check videos posted online by popular eles, they’re almost all 100% zerker.

you should be positioning yourself so that you take little to no damage, and you have cantrips available to keep yourself from taking damage. (STAFF ONLY)

Thanks! I’ll watch that video. Celestial is good for D/D though, right? I spent all my laurels on celestial recipes, ha….Kinda wishing I ha gotten zerker recipes. You can only get laurels from login rewards now, right?

Celestial is very good for D/D but you dont need it.
Here’s something that a very well known elementalist uses instead of celestial.

I’m similar to one of the posters above: I use celestial armour and swap out trinkets/accessories for more/less damage.

Eles are one of the few classes that really make best use of celestial.
