Elementalist require long combos and perfect rotations just to do the same amount of damage as a burst thief or mesmer, and we have worse survivability. Essentially, we require far more skill in order to play at the same level as other classes that require a minimal amount of skill. That would be fine if we got something out of it, like our potential damage was higher but it took more skill, but to invest all that practice and work just to be as good as every other class… It’s stupid.

I think he means in PvP. It’s a bit of an overstatement, but yes eles need love. And they’re getting some with the patch.

You are leaving out a lot of details here.

Take your glass cannon ele on a dungeon pug run and it’s not as pretty anymore.

There is no such thing as underpower or weak or unviable in PvE. Almost anything goes short of walking around naked

This sort of thread again. It has been proven several times by good players that the ele can be very powerful in both pve and WvW. If you meant for spvp then I can agree half of it but then again some players still do great within this setting too. They certainly don’t feel the Ele is weak or underpowered quite the opposite.

These threads need to just go away. NO you cant just smash your head on the key board with ele and expect to win in any pvp wvw environment. in pve FGS = win. If you’re unskilled as a player, play a different class or put the time in to practice. All us eles that have put in hundreds of hours learning to play a class, learning the pros and cons of builds and utilities, and gotten good over time at landing combos find it more rewarding than playing OP cheese classes. So you just want ele to be “as good as all the other classes” so any player can just roll the class and be just as good as a axe gs warrior? Ya just think about what that means to people that play ele really well (slap in the face). just live with the upcoming changes for a few weeks

And how many times such logic was proven as flawed? Everyone who played ele and some other class can clearly say that ele is underpovered and no time invested in ele will fix that. 15.04 patch will not fix it too.
