So I feel like Elementalist elite abilities are rather lackluster in pvp. The only good one anymore being firey greatsword, and it’s best used for running away.

Tornado is surely no plague, you’re committing suicide using it in a fight that you don’t have superior numbers in. Why should necromancer be granted near invincibility while in plague but we just become defensless in tornado? They have double our healthpool how about all damage taken is reduced by 50% while in tornado and you become immune to conditions?

Glyph of elementals use to be my favorite but now people know to just focus the water elemental first if that’s the one u choose to summon. Our elementals die way to fast, they typically die in aoe way to fast and the water elemental sometimes decides to just not use it’s heal. If we could control the elemental like a ranger pet it would be alot better.

New ability

As an elementalist you would think we’d get an ability in our elite selection that uses all 4 elements at once or something…

I have 2 ideas, one defensive and one offensive.

-Imbue The Elements: Surround yourself with the power of all 4 elements for 15 seconds you gain armor of earth, fire shield, frost aura and shocking aura.

-Wrath Of The Elements: You summon down the power of all 4 elements to strike your foe, dealing 600 damage.
~Immoblizes for 3 seconds
~Burns for 9 seconds
~Chills for 4 seconds
~Blinds for 6 seconds

Any other idea or suggestions?

Think about that for a minute … Swirling Winds … Tornado.

The current elites are unviable in pvp. If I can just pick a utility slot for it, I’d be more happy. Hell, even a simple signet is also better.

Gray out the HP for future condition damage
Already quit PvP. Just log in here and there to troll.

Honestly the only reason I use tornado is because I’m going full glass cannon anyway and I use it after meteor storm to double the damage before I die.

Personally I would like to see an Elite Signet:

Signet of Elemental Mastery
45 Cooldown

Signet Passive: Flame Barrier, Zephyr’s Speed, Stone to Flesh, Soothing Mist, and Arcane Fury are more effective.
Signet Active: For 15 seconds, every time you attune to an element you gain every other element attunement for 5 seconds.

Passive Breakdown:
Flame Barrier: Base chance increased to 50%
Zephyr’s Speed: Movement speed increased to 25%
Stone to Flesh: Toughness increased to +150
Soothing Mist: Removes 1 Condition
Arcane Fury: Duration increased to 5 seconds.

Active Breakdown:
Can trigger Flame Barrier, Zephyr’s Speed, Stone to Flesh, Soothing Mist, Arcane Fury, Sunspot, Electric Discharge, Earthen Blast, and Healing Ripple.

Signet of Arcana
CD: FORTY-FIVE s, instant-cast
Passive: Intelligence is increased by 10-20% (so you don’t need to take so much arcana) or boon duration is increased by 10-20%
Active: Recharge all attunement CD (more burst or more survivability)

CD could be lower if Lyssa runes are nerfed, although probably not b/c it would still be awesome with written in stone. I might actually try a written-in-stone build.

TORNADO

  • Recharge reduced from 180 to 0 seconds.
  • No longer has a duration limit.
  • Stability removed.
  • Instead of transforming into a Tornado, the player instead simply gains three Tornado skills (the one’s currently in place) in place of their weapon skills. Now, activating those respective skills transforms the player into a tornado for the period of their channeled duration.
  • While under the effects of Tornado, players gain a buff named Tornado and trail smoke similar to the Omnomberry Ghost food “trailing mist” effect with more of a solid grey tint. Honestly, the buff icon alone would probably be enough. The goal of the icon (and optional visual effect) would be to give enemy players warning that “Oh, this Elementalist is about to BECOME A TORNADO,” since the channeled Tornado skills themselves have no actual cast-time and therefore can be activated instantly.
  • The Elite itself would still retain its 1-second cast-time (swapping to the Tornado skills will still take 1 second).

Electified Tornado

  • Cast-time: 4½ seconds (channel)
  • Recharge: 150 seconds
  • Shape-shift into a tornado that strikes nearby foes with lightning bolts.
    • Tornado damage: 122
    • Tornado launch: 600
    • Lightning damage: 450
    • Duration: 4 seconds
    • Stability: 4 seconds
    • Radius: 240
    • Combo Finisher: Whirl

Dust Tornado

  • Cast-time: 4½ seconds (channel)
  • Recharge: 150 seconds
  • Conjure dust, forming a blinding smoke field at your location. Shape-shift into a tornado that expels blinding dust devils.
    • Tornado damage: 122
    • Tornado launch: 600
    • Dust devil damage: 327
    • Blind: 5 seconds
    • Duration: 4 seconds
    • Stability: 4 seconds
    • Radius: 240
    • Combo Finisher: Whirl
      • [Black Powder] smoke field.

Debris Tornado

  • Cast-time: 4½ seconds (channel)
  • Recharge: 150 seconds
  • Rip debris from the ground, launching foes away from your location. Shape-shift into a tornado that cripples and weakens your enemies with debris.
    • Tornado damage: 122
    • Tornado launch: 600
    • Debris damage: 163
    • Weakness: 2 seconds
    • Cripple: 2 seconds
    • Duration: 4 seconds
    • Stability: 4 seconds
    • Radius: 240
    • Combo Finisher: Whirl

That actually sounds pretty neato. I want to summon a tornado. Something about that sounds even cooler than being a tornado. All the [Meteor Shower] / [Tornado] staff eles would be upset, though.

From what I understand, Tornado can be on the OP side in an area that requires positioning, like Skyhammer.

However, that’s a very limited functionality in today’s PvP, and I would like to see Eles get something like Rieselle’s suggestion of a more intense Glyph of Storms.

That’s a pretty good idea or tornado could work like sandstorm you shoot it forward and it moves really slow, this would allow you to use it to your advantage to fight in and around and it would also be great a great ability to use against zergs.

Would an arcane ability that effectively slows everything down in a field (basically be chill but not cleanable) work? Work as kind of a soft control spell (since we have no real control elite which is what I think people would like tornado to be more of).
