I’m the guy who started the " Can you use only fire and solo up to 80 thread " which sparked one heck of a debate and now I have returned with yet another question.

Since Elementalist aren’t able to weapon switch, can I solo one to 80 with staff only ( using all attunements ofcourse lol ).

Yep extremely easily, I did it. It was my first character I got to 80 (or even below 20 xD) and it’s still my only level 80 character, still using only staff (I tried the other weapons and tried my best to like them, but they’re just not for me and I feel just clumsy and awkward using them).

Cool. Out of the Mages this profession seems to be the only one that interest me at the moment.

I see a lot of Elementalist with staffs so I thought that would be the weapon of choice since they switch attunements instead of weapons during battle.

Yep. Earth/fire staff combo is the easiest and how I leveled my ele. Use earth pet on vets etc.

Absolutely! I prefer the staff over all the D/D and S/D combinations that everyone raves on about. I honestly don’t notice any real difference in the damage (though I’m sure there is some) and cause I leveled nearly 1-80 with the staff I can hold my own with it against a number of vetrens. The tip is to remember to NEVER stand still. Run constantly, usually around in random circles and your enemy won’t be able to keep up, use the fiery retreat (can’t remember the name of it) if the enemy gets too close, use shields and drop water healing spells. Piece of cake
