So I’m looking for clarification on the One With Air trait (Trait IV, available at 10 points in Air). When it says it increases runspeed to a max of +25% (5% every 10 seconds you’re attuned to air), is that in addition to Zephyr’s Speed (the 5 point trait on that line, +10% runspeed when attuned to Air) and the +10% from Signet of Air in passive mode? Or is that in addition to them? Likewise for equipment boost? And if I’m granted Swiftness, does that override any or all of these boosts for a total 33%, or stack with them?

I came to this game from City of Heroes, where my characters could pull off a ground speed of ~90mph (with ~60mph Flight as a backup, in case the terrain wasn’t friendly to running in straight lines), but before that I was with FFXI where even the most minor movement buffs were rare and hard earned. Having experienced both feast and famine in this area, I’ve become kind of a runspeed junkie.

Runspeed caps at 33% (swiftness speed). Runspeed buffs take the highest applied to your character.

AFAIK none of the speed buffs stack. Some are broken and do nothing at all (e.g. windborn dagger).

If you enter combat, all speed buffs don’t work which is a bug with the elementalist. You enter combat when attuning to air since you’ll automatically strike the closest monster (neutral, non hostile or hostile).

The speed buff is great to run around when just gathering items like logs, ore and vegetables.

AFAIK when you are in combat there’s a 30% speed penalty, so it only feels like your buffs are turned off. I find swiftness takes me up to about the non-combat base speed.

Anyone confirm which it is?

Combat gives you a 30% speed penalty; even with Swiftness and Speed rune you cannot completely offset this penalty.
