Elementalist spvp build since patch
Well I’d say scepter plays most like ranger 0 30 10 20 10 with fresh air
Bad Elementalist
I’m not really saying i want something to be similar to the ranger but just a build that works or has a goal… I’m new to the game so i dont completely understand the skill tree and the runes and stuff like that as well as others. I also find the elementalist confusing with the 4 schools of magic, do i have to use all those abilities in pvp ?
do i have to use all those abilities in pvp ?
Unless you are fighting complete newbies you have to. That’s why a lot of competitive elementalists use 30 arcane, because you need the attument cooldown reduction. The elementalist skills have higher cooldowns, so you have to switch often because everything is on cooldown and the elementalist auto attacks are usually very lackluster (with very rare exceptions).
Fresh air needs a certain playstyle and weapon set to be effective. You should search for some youtube videos on how it’s played (While I can understand what it was supposed to do and how it works I had to watch a elementalist guide in order to understand how it is used efficiently)
Regarding builds: I think the old 0-10-0-30-30 build by daphoenix is still pretty common. You have to switch the water adept though, because cleaning wave is now on master tier.
I’ve found scepter fresh air to be the most reasonable build in SPVP. Why? because lightning strike, blinding flash, and frost aura can all be cast when you’re doing something else (channeling something, knocked down, stomping a guardian).
This is the build I run, when I care to play elementalist:

The celestial jewel actually gives 50 all stats, not 45 and so the crit % is actually 29%.
With 20 in water, attuning to water gives a small burst heal and some regen over time, so when your health is down a little make sure to pop into water.
I try to keep rock barrier up and never use signet of earth (it’s just there for the toughness).
*As a side note, I find playing other classes (warrior, engineer) much easier.
Snowwhittes been running this one in tspvp since path
Asura -Thief
I think I have to take back my post. I had been considering a watered down variation of the full zerker staff ele build:

You get mediocre stats overall, but the toughness is reasonable as is the power.
In contrast I find that the attacks on staff are significantly better, as is the control, and healing ability.
