I never see Elementalists anywhere in PvE maps. They simply don’t exist! … Or so they would like me to think. You see, the moment I engage a veteran or champion, suddenly Elementalists come out of cloaking all around me and start raining down hell on the mobs I took on.

It’s not just me who thinks this either, several of my friends are noticing that Elementalists are time and time again the sneakiest and most adept at hiding class in the game. She goes to swing her hammer at something and BAM, an entire party of Elementalists pop out of the ground, fall from the sky and snorkel up from the near by water to help nuke.

The thing is, after the fight is over – They vanish. You don’t even have a chance to blink, they dash into their overwhelmingly flashy particle effect AoEs and vanish into thin air!

Elementalist stealth skill is OP.

um, elementalist don’t have any stealth skill?

its true… often enough i find im in combat and its like no one can see me… or feel my damage.

As the aforementioned hammer-swinger, I can say that this seems very true. I will start fighting a Champion, Veteran, or just Large horde of something and when I get it to about 60%….
WHAM.
A meteor comes crashing into it, and I find that I suddenly have an Elementalist standing about 30 feet behind me. I appreciate the help and I will gladly duo the Champ/Vet/hordeofmonsters with the Elementalist. …. That is until another one crashes into the fray like the Kool-Aid man. ._.; Sometimes, I will end fights with like four of you with me. This is a very common occurrence for me, though unlike Ayanavi I often do get party invites. (These parties usually go charging off into other events and boss fights) Where the F do you guys come from? … Consequently, where do you GO?

I find this hilarious because this is exactly what I do.
See random ranger off in the distance and lightning ball/blink my way up there in .5 sec, nuke down the mob in some crazy Fkey spamming combo and lightning ball away as fast as I came in.

Maybe we repel other Ele’s too, like some magnet stuff, maybe we’re attracted to these situations but when we’re out and about we repel everyone. I never see any other Ele’s about unless it’s a dire AoE DE situation. We’re a mystical bunch. o-o

Ahaha this is great. I have noticed this as I play my ele, I see an orange circle on my map fly as fast as I can to get there drop the mobs and ride the lighting, then burning speed away while people are slowly jogging off haha.

We are all around you like guardian angels on your shoulder it’s just that in all that heavy armour your peripheral vision sucks

This exactly! I do this all the time lol. And I even do it for the OP’s exact questioning. It makes me feel….well Divine (points to my name).

Thus my handle, schroedingercat. I exist and then unexist – all at the same time! And my existence or lack of existence also precludes the existence and lack of existence of other, quantumly entangled elementalists. :p

As a player with a level 80 elementalist I can confirm the truth in the OP’s post.

In PvE you’ll often find me zipping by in lightning attunement as I go about my world completion. Quite often I’ll spot some random person fighting and I’ll go out of my way to rush in, burn off all my cooldowns in a frenzy of glorious fireworks, then ride the lightning into the distance before the other person even knows whats happened.

I can confirm that both my ele and my mesmer had extremely low map completion at 80. And even then it was a bee line from one personal story point to the next. Contrast with ranger and guardian who ran around to nearly every zone looking for stuff to hit.

Basically it was 10 levels crafting and a lot of dead dolyaks.

I mean there is no mob stealing here so….

Another of my favourite strategies is luring mobs to fight between them selves and when they are about to die just release all my aoe on them :P

But my fave of all is trolling the champion troll:
In the norn lvl 80 map there is a champion troll…

I just run there summon my earth elemental, open the chest while the champion is busy with the elemental and just run with the loot….

That’s where the OP goes wrong. It is not a stealth ability, it’s magic! We are elementalists after all :-)

well, along with thieves, we’ve got the potential to be one of the fastest classes. (near-perma swiftness, anyone?)

Cani is right, that’s magic: we bend Air a la “Fata Morgana” to curve light and make us appear (disappear in this case) invisible.

Stealth is for shy emo kids who hide in dark corners.

This is so funny because it’s so true. With my Staff and my trait setup I can easily get perma swiftness and add in Lightning Flash, I zip around the map so fast. If I see a guy that needs help I run in, kill, F key to auto loot (thank you Anet for that) and zip back out and on my way to wherever I was going.

Near? I think you need to re-look at your swiftness boons
