Guild Wars 2

I absolutely love when a character can single-handedly take on multiple enemies and beat them all. I’ve seen a few videos on YouTube of a thief being able to do this on GW2, however, I haven’t seen very many Elementalist videos of this kind of thing, or Elementalist PVP videos in general. Is this just the way a Thief plays? Is a Thief the only class that can do this kind of thing, or could an Elementalist do this as well?

Is it possible for a an Elementalist to take on mass amounts of enemy players, and, with the right skill, beat them all? If so, what kind of build/strategy/weapon combo would that look like? What kind of skills are involved? Obviously, a Thief can Cloak, break stuns, Shadow Refuge, etc, but what kind of skills does an Elementalist have where he or she could replicate (or do better than) this 1vX kind of play style? Thanks for any and all help!

There are plenty of videos of Eles taking on more than 1 opponent. But you have to remember most of these videos involve a decent player against a few noobs in wvw running pve builds. When playing in a balanced setting such as spvp, it should not be possible for any class to take down multiple enemies provided that the players are of equal skill.

What about a Thief? I’ve seen some really good Thieves able to take on mass amounts of people single-handedly. With cloaking and their burst DPS…?

There are videos that shows all professions been able to take more than a one opponent at the same time and win. Any profession can also lose on 2v1 against 2 skillful opponents. even the easy mode build bunker/healer ele pre-patch.

Elementalists are too kitten squishy. Thieves have stealth, high burst attacks, No wonder they can do it. Its different for the ONLY class with Light Armour/Lowest Health pool. Considering we have no immediate get-aways other than RTL which was nerfed, or LF. The class requires alot of practice to play effectively…..its not hard to burst down an ele

Watch daphoenix WvW video, awesome, the best I have ever seen, not that I have seen many videos, LoL. For Thief look for Jumper X, his way of using S/D is so wonderful and revive my Thief Life.

It is possible. When I was really playing my ele I tanked 3 players for an entire match (spvp) more or less (1 was only there for half) along with downing and stomping two who came back after they spawned. It wasn’t exactly easy and tbh I don’t run that build anymore (3 cantrip) because it can do this kind of stuff pretty easily against average players.

I’v always found those videos funny, runs around like a squirrel on a sugar rush scratching and clawing at peoples eyes before making a ‘bolt’ for it only to circle around wide and do it again. I can almost hear their screams of terror when they realize its back. "not the eyes!, NOT THE EYES!

I was actually doing this a few hours ago against another Ele and his annoying Guardian friend. It was all going well until I made 1 little mistake… /sigh
