Elite spells change
Rebound is just a trainwreck of an elite really. Doesn’t even give you the Aura when it saves you from death – when you could need it most.
the only good thing is you can fire it fast and have it next fight back… FSG has to much CD for that.
But it is not at elite level. It´s even weaker then other utility shouts with the 75s CD.
The easiest way to make it viable would be CD 60sec with +20% trait or 45sec and instant cast. Otherwise it should be reworked …
They should at least consider adding either invulnerability or Defiant Stance/Infuse Light effect if you’ve been saved by Rebound for a few seconds, like the Revenant ressurrection trait. Then the pitiful heal wouldn’t be such a joke.

That I would like very much.
It would be more fitting than invulnerability too.

Seriously -_- fml

Rebound doesn’t work. I tried it on the Raid boss today just before the burst attacked, got 1-shot for 30k damage and still died.

Maybe it doesnt work if the dmg you take is more than the health you have?
Dont get me wrong though. It should work, also vs that amount of dmg, according to the tooltip.
However I am looking for a reason for why it didnt work.
well u will never have a buff on tornado cause it has been nerfed several times… it would make no sense if they buffed it.
Well Maybe anet has no sense … right.
Anet honestly doesn’t really give a kitten about your opinion. Nobody from the dev team will reply to this. There will be no serious consideration. They are busy with important issues like adjusting the visual effects of our abilities.
I feel like "Rebound"’s healing is actually at a good spot right now, to kill someone and then suddenly have them get back up to 50% HP isn’t fun at all for those facing a tempest. A nicer approach would be to give all players who die under the effects of rebound a few seconds of invurnability, quickness and a juicy stack of might. This way “Rebound” wouldn’t be the lackluster 2k heal that nobody even cares about. Honestly you’d actually want to kill anyone with rebound on them in order to prevent them from getting that aura and it’s associated boons… it’s that bad. Just compare it to something like infused light and rebound just shrivels before it’s presence.
Honestly, just giving rebound a stunbreak on use would likely make it closer to being useful. As it is, its more of an extra aura for 75s cooldown.

I can understand that it becomes demotivating if you want and need changes that you dont see happening for x months/years(?),
that it gives a feeling of being ignored.
However the attitude of saying, dont try anything they wont reply anyway, will for sure not give us changes.
Maybe they wont reply, but if they read it would at least be something.
How do you suggest to make a voice be heard? Or your view is dont bother?
Making threads from time to time and posting in them doesnt really take much time from me.
It helps me to see what others think of those subjects (which I am curious about) and
maybe if those threads become large and have constructive input in them,
that they will catch Arenanet’s attention (which I hope for).
Nearly all elite skills need improvements, and not just for Elementalist. It just so happens that we don’t have a single Elite (imo) that would be an improvement over a utility in its place instead. In fact the only utility I wouldn’t take might be Glyph of Renewal, and that’s saying something because a lot of our utilities are considered underpowered as well.
What I’d like:
FGS – Reduced cd to at least 90s, maybe even 60s if the 2nd FGS is sacrificed (esp. if other conjures were reduced to 30).
Glyph – Elemental stays until death or cd reduced to 60s. Increased HP might be good but I find Earth Elemental survives quite well as is.
Tornado – I liked the suggestion of making it a ground targetable aoe. If it reflected projectiles that might be a usable option too.
Rebound – Damage inversion or invulnerability for a short time after saving would be fantastic.
New Elite:
Signet of Arcane.
Passive – 10% Boon duration.
Active – Recharge all attunements (60ish cd, 0.5-1ish activation).

It probably took you 5 minutes, yet that elite would be better than all the stuff they’ve tried with rebound.
I doubt they would make a single good Elite as literally every ele/tempest would be using that and ignoring all other elites. They would need to buff all elites to avoid that.
Meanwhile, Anet’s busy throwing visual noise nerfs. Seriously, Ring of Earth looks scarier than Churning Earth now what the actul kitten?
They should just copy the stats of the AED heal onto rebound. Both skills serve the same purpose but rebound has over twice the cooldown and less than half of the healing.

I had to get on just to reply to this, I absolutely LOVE all of these changes. FGS now becomes a skill with an appropriate cooldown, Glyph of Elementals actually will feel like an elite as it should be up 100% of the time assuming your pet doesn’t die, Tornado will have use in CC and DPS instead of this really bad skill nobody will ever take, and the Signet of Arcane completely matches with what Arcane does…Lots of boons/keeping boons up and quickly swapping between attunements.
It is strange to me when other classes have elites for every type of utility they have elementalist is left in the dark with Signets.
They would each have their uses too, Tornado would be a CC type ability, FGS is still mobility, Elemental gives you a bit more tankiness more often, and Signet would be useful much like Guardian’s Renewed focus but less powerful.
There really is no reason Ele should have awful skills for elites in comparison to other classes.

Actually, no profession has elites for every type of utility they have. Every profession is missing 1 healing skill and 2 elite skills atm.

Pretty good suggestion overall.
FGS – I really believe that conjure weapons need a rework in general. However, if that rework never happens it would still be nice to have a cooldown that is not absurd.
Glyph – The HP buff isn’t needed but it should be permanent. The necromancer flesh golem is just as good as any elemental and it lasts forever. This is one of the many examples that shows how weak elementalist elites are.
Tornado – This would be my dream come true. If tornado became ground target-able and at least destroyed projectiles, it would turn from a skill I never use to one of my most used elites.
Rebound – Invulnerability for 2 seconds or so after saving would probably make it a worthy elite. Though I do think that it also needs something more if it doesn’t save your target, a delayed aura doesn’t seem good at all. Unfortunately, I’m not sure what you could add for that.
Signet of Aracne – It would be a pretty good future addition for sure. I believe that tempest would find the best use for this. 10% boon duration is pretty nice since tempest can focus on boon support heavily. In addition, the instant attunement recharge works really well with overloads.
