Enable weapon swap to/from conjures
Couldn’t agree more. I’d love to roll with fiery greatsword in pvp, but being completely locked out of you other vital tools means death. Also if you pop mistform or go underwater your summoned weapon is done. Having it be our “offset” could be a solution to this.
Yeah. I forgot about the loss of conjure on mist form. The underwater thing is another pet peeve and just another example of how the already potentially underpowered elements list class gets the shaft in underwater combat.
Hmmm…I kinda like the general idea. What I’d like more is if we were limited to a single conjured weapon at a time. Equip the conjure and then it just becomes the second weapon set without charges. If you must maintain a charge paradigm, give us 15-30 charges on swap. That limits the contiguous time we can spend in it during prolonged fights. Not sure what to do about the weapon on the ground other than make it unusable by the caster.
Another possbility (which I think is even better) is to have the conjured weapon, once equipped, replace the skills of the attunement it represents. Lightning Hammer would replace air skills, Frost bow would replace water skills and so on. This way you could equip whatever you wanted, knowing that it replaces the attunement skill setup normally available. Then you equip elementally conjured weapons to your heart’s content. So I could keep my S/D fire and earth skills, then pick up a hammer and bow for my other two attunements if I’m willing to sacrifice those S/D attunement skills for the conjured weapons.
Ah well. Dream on!
I think the number of skills locked out underwater is shocking across the board -_- Specially as I have so much fun with the conjures…
+1 though great idea, engineers have this exact functionality.
Yeah unfortunatly there are so many things that makes the cunjured not that good – despite them being really great looking.
You have a very limited time with them, 15 charges can get used up really fast and the DPS of them really doesn’t warrant this. At worst we should get 30 charges and 60 seconds with the trait skill bumping it up to 45 charges and 90 seconds (greatsword should get a similar increase on it’s charges/time).
They get removed for almost everything, you get downed for a few seconds – gone, you pick up a quest item – gone, you use a utility skill like mist – gone, you go in slightly deep water – gone. This needs to be sorted ASAP and i consider it a major bug.
As you say, they need to act as a 2nd weapon when cunjured and the timer needs to keep going when you swap back to your normal weapons. So i pop the greatsword and fire off 5 charges and at 45 seconds i switch to my staff again to pop a n AOE water heal, i should then be able to switch back to the greatsword and have my remaining 10 charges with around 30 seconds left – this makes perfect sence and it just boggles the mind why it wasn’t done like this from the start.

I started using them as they look great (the hammer and sword more so) and they are a very interesting setup, but the more i used them – the more i keep saying “why bother?”.

i look at all of our conjured pieces and get so depressed when i know i can’t swap between em. there are just enough spaces to allow for all of them too.. such a shame

I want to get that greatsword out more but I only ever really use it if I’m farming things with not much hp, fighting something that has lots of hp but isn’t really a threat in dungeons or if what we’re fighting is really close to a wall so I can get lots of tasty ability 3 hits in.
I’m mostly bummed they’re focussed so much on short range attacks. The only worthwile weapon for me is the bow.
I kind of hate the bow. EXCEPT it’s 4? ability. The daze/confuse icy meteor shower. That skill packs a HUGE punch. The greatsword has some power and I really enjoyed using it for a while but then I had to actually play well and the greatsword doesn’t let you do that lol. The hammer is neat in that it lets you 1v1 up close a little easier with so many blind attacks and CC. The shield suckskitten. The flame axe is like a stupid version of the greatsword. Since we have 4 skills related to conjuring, you’d think Anet would have made them…. useful? Yeah, useful is what I mean to say.
