Are you aware that you got back only one of the 4 blast finishers it was originally intended to provide? And you are forced to be in earth attunement to have it (yes, the worst possible attunement we could have it in – due to eruption delay…)
its really good for DD
unfortunately mistform and RTL new bugs are so huge that all my hapiness went down the drain……
At least i hope they will be number 1 on fixlist of everything considering how much they impact the class.
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.

I don´t know if you mean D/D or DD, but anyway, if it´s good only to one weapon set, it´s bad, and if you mean DD – Direct damage, then you´re wrong, it deals low dmg for a 30 point trait (look at the warriors 5-point trait, which he has in the power traitline, where DD traits belong….)
The new bugs also kinda took my opinion on devs down, I don´t think that the classes can be fixed this way

Yes I am happy because this change brings back a mechanic which I found incredibly fun and I am sure you will find a nice way to use that blast finisher as a staff user

I also hope, but it kinda discourages me when the devs broke a trait while fixing it (intended?), and then fix-nerf it (i know that every-dodge-blast finisher was bugged, and agree to fix, but I believe that all attunement dodge-spells originally should have the blast finisher.), and see ppl actually applauding them for this nerf? That doesn´t make sense to me to be honest.
I was excited to play the staff ele the dodging-blasting style (and would be still if the EA has blasts on all attunements, with unintended blasts removed – 10secs CD on each), but be forced to one attunement to have it kills this playstyle and i think it´s not worth investing 10 more points into Arcana line unfortunately

D/D obviously…..
and considering we are stuck mostly in one single weapon set differently from other classes..its a sort of unexpected buff having a blast finisher easy accessible on your standard combo….
Also when you are waiting earth 4/5 recharge but you want to use earth 2 or 3 you have your blast finisher.
This for DD is really a nice buff at least it pushes a really funny playstyle

now I think – at least for what concerns D/D – we only need one more combo field (best candidates W5 and A5) and one more finisher (best candidate would be magnetic grasp, projectile finisher, not limited to fire aura trigger).
Hopefully with time ppl will stop to mimic D/D with staff and actually use it as intended.
It’s better than having no blast finisher at all. At least a step back into the right direction for Elementalists.
I actually think that EA is in a really good state right now. It’s powerful, but not ridiculously so, and the earth attunement blast finisher actually lends itself to more skillful/planned gameplay.
And really, the earth attunement limitation isn’t that bad, because if you have EA, you WILL have a 10 second cooldown only on your attunements. This means that you can pop an EA blast finisher just about every 10 seconds anyway. Except now, you actually have to plan your fields out so that you go into earth when one is up.
With staff, this is a bit more difficult because you generally cast eruption and THEN put down the field in another attunement, so you aren’t in earth anymore. BUT since different attunements have different fields, I think it will be interesting with staff. Like maybe you are in earth, and you use eruption → fire → lava font for might, then you attune to water, put down geyser or cleansing rain and switch to earth and roll into it for healing…of course if it’s cleansing rain you can use eruption in that as well because of the long duration.
Also…the spell effects that EA gives really are not that bad. Especially when the SAME tree that has EA can give you perma-vigor, which basically doubles the amount of EA’s you can use. The air one is an AoE blind…that’s pretty freaking good! And the water removes a cond, once again good. I know that fire and earth don’t do that much damage, but man, every little bit helps…I have killed people with lightning flash before.
So yeah, I don’t get all the complaining. EA is right up there with Powerful Auras as one of our best GM traits. So if anything, I don’t think it should change at all…instead I would prefer they try to make our other GM traits better…Pyromancer’s Puissance…come one!
