Evasive Arcana death
EA (Aug 28, 2012 – November 15, 2012)
RIP
gone but not forgotten
sucks, but happens.
I know this effected staff users way more than it did for a D/D user like me, but I still used it, and I still loved it for stacking might so I could at least have some damage. Shame that it’s gone.
However, Sticking the 10 points from Acana into fire and using 10% more damage while attuned to fire has given me a much more reliable damage output. So i don’t NEED to stay alive longer with evasive roll in water and healing blast finishers because I can kill my enemies quicker.
A single trait was the reason a few people picked a class. A single trait revamped entire playstyles. A single trait helped establish world peace and fought against world’s decrimination. It was the death of a single trait – nay, of a true hero.
The biggest joke about Evasive Arcana is that I always considered it to be a design masterpiece with all the synergy it brings… And it turned out to be “unintended” bug.

I lol’d IRL. Incredibly true story.
Sad to see Eles get put through a grinder while ‘other’ classes get away smelling like winners.

me too..in fact i was praising the ele class to my friends using this trait as an example of strategic gameplay
My self as well. I had become quite optimistic of of the game after making one last try at playing GW2 when I “discovered” EA and the challenging/synergistic and fun game play that came with it.

Same. The per-attunement cooldown combined with natural limits on Energy mean you could do some cool things with it but it never got abusive. In the game, there was an interesting risk/reward aspect to it too, making for an extremely tactical experience. If your reflexes were good enough, you could go Water3/Fire 2, dodge roll, Fire 4 and get the combo off quickly while retreating afterwards without wasting energy, but even then you had to be careful not to roll into the middle of a bunch of PBAoEs. Do it right and you save your dungeon buddies or grant them some Might and get out. Do it wrong and you’re Downed.
It was simple but elegant, straightforward but dynamic. It makes no sense to me whatsoever why they wouldn’t want us to have this.
How to Condi Reaper on a budget
Everything I say is only in reference to PvE and WvW.
Truly sad day for every elementalist. Still mourning for the loss.
Well at least it kept its MASSIVE damage.
Truly sad, sad to say this led me to retiring my ele.
It’s kinda like going out with a quirky but actually quite lovely lady, finally enjoying life, and then one day in the happy lull of it all, she calls you and apologizes for banging the neighbor… oh, and she’s moving in with the neighbor.
