As topic say, any viable f2p eles for wvw , roaming in specific , maybe some suggestions ?

shure. It even doesn´t matter as much as in pvp.

Well from fresh air ele to condi ele all is possible. So play preferences (weapon choice), skill level with ele and resources for gear would help to make a build.

Both sf and dd ele work very well on base ele.

Are there any restrictions on what you can buy or craft regarding runes and gear? Can you get the HoT only runes and sigils from the wvw vendor and stuff? Or craft things like marauder gear?

Marauder is not option, cele sadly also not since i have no guild . Trying to set DD cele build with mixed other available stats.

I don´t think it´s a good idea trying to do cele without cele ….
Also skill with ele matters when choosing gear and weapons. I prefer S/F.

Well, first things first. Get a guild. It’s not too hard, just throw a few lines into LA map chat. Casual guilds don’t really care if you are f2p or not. Celestial DD is pretty much your best choice for roaming if you don’t have HoT.

Cleric ele for zerging is always a good option if you want to drop some water fields for people :>

DD ele with no cele, no quadstat gear and no durability is gonna be a struggle I’m afraid.

You could play full berserker fresh air S/F, but I wouldn’t advise it to a beginning player.

Hey Tempest is boring to play anyway, much better damage and fun running Arcane/Water/Air with staff or cele arcane d/d (even if it sucks compared to 2 years ago).

How could you not get cele gear though? You don’t need HoT for that. Save laurels for trinkets, or craft armor or weapons. Not hard to get it. And this is coming from someone that absolutely despises crafting in every single game i’ve ever played and will go out of my way to avoid doing it if possible. You don’t need a guild to get it either, so i don’t know what you mean by that.

Yes is viable, you can use a valkyrie amulet and weapon (just one weapon) to try to emulate marauder. It’ll be a loss in precision, you can try to fix that a little with food.

I would focus on S/F (air/earth/arcane) since D/D is more dependant on celestial gear. The traits would be these or similar.

You can choose evasive arcana, if you want, i like both but elemental surge has synergy with arcane blast to inmobilize or chill foes while you’re in earth or water. Arcane blast is part of your burst while in air, you close in with lightning flash, use arcane blast and scepter 2 -3 -5 (save air 4 for when you have to finish the enemy), then switch to fire and blast flamewall with scepter 2-3.

Water is to heal while kiting, daze with 5 and chill if they’re trying to outrun you (if they’re too far use arcane blast to chill instead). Earth obviously is purely defensive, keep rock barrier up whenever you can, you have aoe blindness in 3, reflect in 4 and emergency button in 5.

This is the build i use when i get bored of tempest, you can try mist form or armor of earth instead of arcane shield if you really have proplems finishing people.

Tank of gas costs around 60-75$ in Finland (12 gallons). Not related to the topic at hand so much, just found that a little bit subjective as comparison =D

This is similar to the build I’m using in WvW for Ele. The only real difference is I have tempest instead of arcane and a single shout instead of arcane shield.

This offers very good healing for you and your team along with some condi dmg so your not just a heal bot.

OK so looking at the wiki you can buy quartz which means you should be able to charge it to make celestial and also buy the recipes.

However I also found from the wiki that free accounts can’t access the forum’s so I’m a bit puzzled by the question now. If you’re free you shouldn’t be able to post here. If you just don’t have HoT but the base game purchased then craft cele and stick water, monk or traveler runes on it. I’d personally recommend traveler or monk over water though as most of water runes bonuses you can’t use with the signet or are kinda meh.

Running not HoT ele is very duable in wvw your just going to be a glass staff ele tempest line is not a must nor is the HoT combos but if they do add in a glass dmg elite spec line for ele in the next expansion then you will no longer be able to be the “best” set up in wvw. Ele is not a core class because ele has nothing over tempest. Tempest is just a pure add on all be it mostly a def add on so not running tempest line your simply going to be more dmg aimed but if they ever did add in an elite spec dmg line then you would run that line over say fire air or arcain/water.
This is true for memzers rangers thf eng and maybe revs (not sure if revs have on there own) because there elite spec takes nothing away from the “core” lines but only adds to them.
