Favorite Attunement
I play D/D, and I think I’d have to say that air is my favorite attunement. I love the swiftness, Ride the Lightning, and the zappy sound effects.

I literally love fire waaay too much, so i’s not suprising that fire is my favourite. I also love water but generally find earth and air to just not suit me or my play style or whatever… I just don’t click with them.
So, Fire is my favourite! Meteor shower just does not get old for me, fire balls are exciting, being able to breathe fire! Having a firey phoenix friend omg! <3
I’d say it is weapon dependent.
On Staff, I like fire. Who doesn’t like the archetypical fireball attack? And the lava font is nice too but the most flashiest over-the-top attack, Meteor Shower, is always fun to watch.
On Daggers, I like Water. Namely because of the auto-attack and that I use sometimes 2 or more glyphs (and usually mist form), he feels like a ninja with his vapor blade shuriken.
On Scepter, it’s Air. Especially the ‘I don’t have to cast anything, I can just look at you (but don’t have to) and a lightning strike will smack you out of nowhere’ attacks.
On Focus, it’s rather a toss up between air and earth. They both feel nice.
i solo a lot as d/d so air by far…ive played kiters in most mmos so it fits my playstyle perfectly
Fire. I love Fire. I even traited my build for reduced fire cooldown and increased damage since I am on it the most. I just like the AoE of it and the high spike (staff player). Non-stop Lava Font is amazing. Meteor Shower can be a bit weak, but against some things it just murders.
Earth has to be my least favorite. The condition and slows are cool, I just wish it was more defensive. Currently I see it more of an odd mix of the other three than one unique onto itself (aoe of fire, conditions of fire, cc of air, slowing of water). Still useful to have but I probably don’t attune to it much.
Air and water are both cool though. I like Air on staff, but I don’t use it as much. On Daggers, Air is amazing though. And I love Water for Chill more than anything else. The heals are nice too, but I usually only use them when I am too late to save (e.g. 2k life left and no heal).
Although the thing I love the most is how the 4 attunements work together. I usually just stay on fire unless something challenging comes along (e.g. Fractal Boss). But when it does, I will use all 4 attunements (probably air least. Staff Air is a bit lacking in those situation). In PvE, they work amazingly for me and I find it more fun to play on ele than any other class. While player other characters, I am always missing one attunement or another (e.g. no water to attune to remove conditions =\). And I have found teams ele heavy to be some of the best and most efficient in dungeons (e.g. 3 eles in AC Path 3….all those frost bows!).
I personally like air. In my opinion its great for kiting and speed, especially since with all of the blindness and knockback/knockdown abilities you really don’t have to worry about getting hit with any huge attacks. Also, I just have to say it, air attacks have awesome sound effects and animation. My second favorite would probably be fire. The damage is just too awesome. However, I do feel as though it is completely based on weapon choice and playstyle.
Water is probably my favorite because of the strong heal I get for switching and the condition removal. Who cares about the abilities, I just love switching to that when I’m in trouble. That’s saved me more times than I can count.

the fire skills in staff are my favorite. I love the idea of bombarding an area, and laying waste to any enemies in the area.
In Daggers I love the Earth attunement the most. You can tell I like flashy skills, and Churning Earth is so satisfying to land, and does tons of damage.
d/focus
Earth.
You have a snare, a leap, invulnerability, reflection and a condition clear. It’s amazing and it primes all of my other attunements instantly.

Can knockdown, and blind, I also like fire because if my phoenix and ring of fire
staff – fire (though i do really like the air2 animation)
d/d – everything; fire for the dodge/updraft>3>4>2>5 combo, earth for the epicness of churning earth (and earth 2 is pretty cool… impale hitting through walls is nice too), water for the heal and condition cleanse on attunement, cone of cold and aqua boomerang (i love aqua boomerangs animation so much…) and air for shocking aura RTL updraft (i love updraft in wvw… not so much in PvE… but its still kinda nice) and the (nearly as awesome as vapour blades) auto attack animation… really dont think i could choose a favourite
scepter – earth… though phoenix/dragon tooth have pretty nice animations too
focus – water; just for the comet… shame focus takes away RTL, large fire field, churning earth, frost aura etc… and adds very little in return

I like Air the most.
Though it’s pretty lackluster in staff (in terms of cool spells), it’s overall the attunement that defines most of the combos in an ele’s moveset. Without air there would be no synergy pretty much.
RtL, updraft, shocking aura, static field, blinds, AOE blinds, sweet chain lightning (I wish the missile speed was a little faster)… lots of control and SPEEEEEEEEED
