To put it simply, pulling a mob towards a wall, using the #4 Skill without it targetted, and running into said wall.

Generating an insane amount of damage. The AOE fields actually stack up and burn away at the health, easily setting the highest burst damage in the game.

This feels more so like an exploit, seeing as how this is the only ability of its kind, with stacking/damaging fields.

Give it a rest run Elementalists. You won’t be disappointed. One more trick to put you on top, after recent patches.

I’m sure that this has been our most effective tool in assaulting keep/tower doors for a while now, but perhaps this will enlighten other elementalists.

Too late, I guess. Well done OP for kittening up something else for us. Our AoE isn’t even AoE, and now this?

I don’t think this is an exploit, it’s just using your environment intelligently. Normally the attack does damage while you are moving. Even though you may be in a position where you can’t move, it continues to deal damage as expected. The same goes for Burning Speed. Using it up close against an enemy that’s pinned up on a wall, wherein you don’t move, will deal a lot of damage.

Yep, you’re right, it’s overpowered and is an exploit. Using any forward attacking attack at a wall for stacking damage is an exploit. Thus I recommend that the worst offender of this, warriors ( see CoF p1 vs first sub boss ) should be nerfed to the ground.

So is standing on top of a rock where a mob can’t reach you. And you get punished for that too.

It’s a shame really, because you’d expect that games would encourage ‘using your terrain to your advantage’. Instead, it’s only used as window dressing.

If you can read this then it is proof that ArenaNet’s moderators just, kind and fair.

I don’t want to know if this is intended or not, but try dagger fire 3, staff fire 4 and greatsword 3 in similar conditions. Nice damage.
It would seem obvious that some other profession’s skills work similar.

Don’t come and kitten this up OP.
It’s a kittening blast reaching warrior level of damage for a mere 20 seconds.

There’s another way to reach warrior level damage. Roll a warrior. It’s easily the best choice I’ve ever made and it’s ridiculously easy to run. Also @ op: exploit, or ridiculous whining? Do eles not deserve a decent elite? Even as that stands its still largely useless in spvp and is situational at best in pve
