Fire Grab ever going to be fixed?
Well they nerfed RTL so much now it has about the same chance to hit as firegrab. That’s balance according to anet.
Stop using daggers, they won’t fix anything until we use other weapons.

Well 99% of ele players don’t use focus yet it still isn’t fixed :/

Also, try using daggers in Australia, or other lag countries. It can miss a foe who is standing still.

Also you don’t even seem to use the skill. It fails to hit when the target is right in front of you, but standing on a tiny rock. It fails to hit when the target is strafing. It fails to hit a FRAKKING lot.

If you lag, it fails to hit anything unless predicting where they will be in a second or 2. Not to mention the above mentioned backstab … your in stealth when you do it, you don’t have to maneuverer behind the enemy during the fight, you just wander off in your 20 seconds of stealth and come back later for a backstab open.

No point of comparing our skills with other classes.
Been playing D/D Ele since beta but of course I probably never use the skill.
I like how Eviscerate teleports Warriors to the other side of the map and they still hit, but FG requires some skill and preparation.
Why? Because despite everybody calling us OP due to a guy exploiting the hell out of PvE consumables while kiting Uplevelled warriors and thieves in blue gear (all that on the US Servers, where most 1vsX PvDers videos are made), Ele is hard to excel at. And that is a good thing.

no, it won’t be fixed. It would make Elementalist less crippled, and that’s a no-no.

Focus does not need a fix. Players need a fix! If someone talented (not me) could show the community how powerful the focus is then people would change their minds.
A suggestion for spell instead of firegrab:
Theme: dying star, growing sun
For 4 seconds after cast all damage received makes a ball of fire grow above you, at the end of the 4 seconds the fireball explodes and deals damage plus half of the stored damage in a medium aoe around you, deals more damage to burning targets.
The fireball remains active even if you die within the 4s absorbing time.

Firegrab has a cone damage effect. Its not so much the angle of the cone but the distance of effectiveness.
I don’t try and make it hit often, I just use it to stack might.
It is hilarious when it does hit and you get to see the big numbers.

Its a skill i spam and waste pointed in the general direction of the enemy and the end of my fireburst then.

Then you waste the potential to burst thieves in thier smokefield or burst on several ppl who are ressing for 5k.
Highest crit on a d/p backstabber was 11k. He did not even heartseeker out of that field anymore.

I believe is everybody aim to play the game for fun, I couldn’t care less of people calling me pro or noob accordingly to the profession I play, it’s a videogame..it’s not meant for anything else really, therefore FG should hit as easily as eviscerate, I play the game for fun, I play the ele ’cause I like the concept not because I care to wait for some unknown kid on internet to call me pro or noob

It would be nice if it actually grabs the foe before dealing dmg. It is more a fire puff

Fire Grab is easy to hit with. Dragon’s tooth is a lot harder to hit with. ArenaNet should concentrate to improve other less popular weapon to make them more popular and for different builds that wasn’t viable before.

The reason people are constantly making forums posts about it is because it is annoying as all hell when you spend most of the fight trying to get them to waste rolls to get a chance to land a flame grab and then see them walk and inch away from you diagonally only to see the thing say MISS.
It’s a problem that has existed for a while and nothing has been done about it. Are you really that dense and stubborn to believe that it’s okay for an important damaging spell to only work in one aspect of the game?

It is a problem that has existed since release. It was buffed to have a bigger radius but still suffers from missing issues (as does dagger air 2) in pvp (and if you have 300ms … good luck having half your skills hit). The skill is fine in PvE.
