My elementalist is D/D, level 73 at the moment. I spend a lot of time running around the lowbie zones still, owning the events, soloing champions, well at least the melee only champions. I have been coming across various events that quickly send teleporting back to the repair guys. Mobs that are Immune to burning AND have their own burn attacks. Now, I don’t know what set of equipment these mobs are wearing but they must have super +Condition damage, because they can kill me nearly instantly, while my main damage abilities are useless against them. The Skillpoint veteran fire elemental in the Asura starting area is one(he still ROFLSTOMPS me at 73), and the Brisbane Highland events in the caves with the destroyer crabs/destroyer trolls are another. It’s bad enough that those crabs are badarse, but they can’t be single pulled on top of it that I can tell, coupled with the super fast respawn rate it just makes these events completely futile unless you happen to be in a zerg.

So, any tips on how to deal with mobs with fire immunity? Maybe I should change weapon types I don’t know, I know next to nothing about anything other than D/D.

Uh what are your current equips? I’ve been going to Mount Maelstrom lately to try and farm Destroyer Cores (I’m level 80, full P/V/T AC gear, AC Daggers, some random jewelry out of which like 1 is exotic, 1 rare, and the rest masterwork and they have some random stats lol but generally focusing on PVT as well) and I really have absolutely no problem fighting 3 destroyer crabs+ a destroyer troll at once. Yeah, the immune to burn thing is annoying because it makes them take longer to kill, but with the amount of kiting I can do, crabs usually don’t get to hit me with many of their attacks (they don’t hit that hard, but they do it fast). Like for example, I tend to do my cycle like this: fire>earth (for might stacks) (sigils of battle get me to 25 stacks solo eventually!!!) then water, for the chill, and then wind. All the time the crabs are chilled I can just walk backwards while autoattacking with wind and they won’t reach me until chill runs out, and by then they’re probably dead. Btw these mobs are level 65-66.

I am currently using the level 60ish Knight set that I tailored, which is P/T/V. I haven’t really tried using the water autoattack on them, i usually switch into water, auto frost armor or whatever it’s called, then the spray attack and maybe the heal before i switch back out. I never use earth either, except the #4 or sometimes #3 for auras, I just can’t stand earth for PvE.

That’s your problem, earth #5 is great in PvE. 8 stacks of bleed is good against everything (except the last boss in dredge fractal). You should also swap to earth often for protection (I assume you have the arcane trait for boons on attunement swap, if not you really need to rethink your traits). Earth #2 is also good for some damage + cripple.
Otherwise just do your normal rotation (which should include earth anyway to stack might through blast finishers) and they should be no worse than any other mobs.

Well if you’re not might stacking then you’re doing it wrong. My full order of skills goes like this:
Starting in fire: 3 for burst and gap closing if needed, 2 but only for around 2-3 ticks, 5, 4, walk a little to the right, then dodge to the left and switch to earth mid-dodge so EA procs inside the ring of fire and gives me 3 stacks of might. While in earth I use 4→ SOMETIMES 3 if I remember to (though with these guys fire aura would only be for the fury/swiftness) then 5.

Switch to water mid 5 and turn on frost aura so they start stacking chills on themselves. Earth 5 is fantastic because it deals a TON of damage on groups of mobs and I never have problems living through the channel. Also 3 extra might stacks. Then I water 3 as soon as the channel’s done, use water 2 for more dps/healing, then I switch to wind. Use shocking aura, 2, then just start autoattacking while walking backwards so they don’t damage me. Usually after a few of these the crabs are dead.

Water autoattack sucks, don’t use it, I only ever use it when I need to leash something without aggroing mobs around it, and even then it’s too short ranged, or when I simply have nothing else to use lol

OH also I carry around Arcane Blast for 3 more might stacks. I always use it before EA procs, in the middle of the dodge, around when I switch to earth. All of this, along with a Superior Sigil of Battle I have on one of my daggers, and the +Boon Duration from Water and Monk runes make me have around 22-25 might stacks quite often.
