If you want to look at Fire attunement in focus not doing damage. Firewall is the culprit for that.

One second of burning on a one second internal cooldown on a skill that’s on a defensive weapon set in an offensive attunement. That’s absolute garbage.
Firewall is its own problem, but Fire Shield might be even worse.
What fire shield reduced damage from projectiles as well? You know, to go along with the hole shield thing…
Or maybe it could give you 10% extra/reduced damage against/from burning foes.
or just reworked completely. As far as heals go, I doubt we’d see them in fire unless it was from some sort of trait (which would be awesome).
Needs a complete rework. It is just so bad.

How about it also knock-backs and burns enemies in a small aoe-radius when used.
Alternatively, just give it a reasonable cooldown (like 15-20s) and it can be good with aura traits.

The cooldown reduction would probably be the easiest, cleanest solution, without having to also rebalance combo fields and signet-aura builds. Would make sense too seeing as how it’s a bit odd that Shocking Aura gets half the cooldown, when it’s a lot more useful.
Alternatively, just give it a reasonable cooldown (like 15-20s) and it can be good with aura traits.

I like this idea of 3 stacks per hit……I’d be happy just with that little change.
3 stacks for hit would be massively OP, they way I’ve started using fire shield is..to sit on top of flame wall and use phoenix when an enemy get close , in no time I get up to 16 stacks of might as the enemy keep hitting me, I’m using a s/d burst build so you can imagine the dmg I do ( PvP ), I then use freezing gust+comet to stop any healing attempt, or gale to interrupt them should daze fail
Something should be done with it to make it more helpful. They should remove fire aura cooldown or decrease it to 0.5. The aura is helpful but it can not be stacked and it is very situational.

not really situational, I use it to stack might quickly while putting pressure on enemy, it works really

Those builds are not even viable, though.
They’re pretty viable, you’re just hung up on your cantrips too much.
