After watching ready up and seeing the engineer flamethrower fire wall change, is anyone else looking forward to that change being reflected in ours?

I think hitting for power and condition simultaneously will help a lot, though I am a biased focus addict…

tbh I don’t mind the lack of mobility, since the objectives aren’t moving anywhere. I love how dagger and focus have such different playstyles.

That said, which skill would you change to a mobility skill? Any idea what it would be like? A long range pull to oppose the dash of RtL maybe?

Well the mobility kills it in roaming. Honestly I’d completely switch it up and make a skill a teleport skill.

You could make it fire 5, either air skill, or tack it onto the end of water 5.

Another unique option is turning earth 4 into an invulnerability & stealth skill, you’d just have to drop the blast finisher.

Another very unique option is adding a few different fields to the skills. A few fields and you don’t have to add stealth to earth 4.

why not have the air no. 5 knock down be you jumpin into the air and onto the target knocking them down? It’d look cool, gain a bit of an effect and we’d love the devs a whole lot more just because.

Yeah that was my idea with the water knockdown. It teleports you to the target you knock down. It makes sense with the air one too.

Only thing is if you don’t have anything selected for the skill, it should still automatically do its effect at max range.

While I realize different weapons have different purposes, every weapon should have a bit of everything. Focus has literally zero movement. You’ll find I’m proposing only one skill add movement.

that would make it more of a RTL which the dagger already has. Plus we also already have lightning flash…

Lightning flash isn’t that great, and I don’t see how your suggestion differs from mine.

Also they’re not really comparable. One is a dash and can be interrupted, one is a teleport and helps an immobile weapon set stick on its opponent.

Maybe on water 4 chill skill add a: pull foes in a 360 radius towards you. 600 or 900 range max 3 targets. Theyd be gap closed and chilled.

Yeah I think having the focus, keep people near you is better than giving a skill to make you approach the enemy, I think a completely different playstyle is good to differentiate dagger and focus.

About only 1 movement ability, offhand dagger only has Ride the Lightning and (sort of) Updraft for mobility so adding 1 to focus would make the 2 offhands very similar.

I’d add possibly air 5 pull and knockdown (like a reverse launch – great for ruining the day of anyone on a wall in wvw) if water 4 was an aoe pull+chill it would likely get quite a long cast. Though if it had damage/cast similar to churning earth, I would be 100% ok with that… The ice troll mobs in frostgorge sound have an ability like that.
