Where did all the signet related traits go? And what happened to Fire’s Embrace? I cant seem to find it anywhere and I could have sworn I saw it on there before they released the patch.

Anyone that could shed some light on this would be much appreciated, i’m pulling my hair out looking for this trait amongst the new trait system..

Why gone.. wheres all the signet related traits? What the hell is the purpose of running signets without that trait? Why would they remove it? I swear I saw it was there mixed in with something else before they patched..

I was thinking the same. Signet ele has few related traits now. I feel like Anet just scrapped the one branch of ele that we gained…back to d/d cele crap.

Some one in my guild was running a 3 fire 3 air? (or 3 water) 3 earth conji wepon aura build and it seemed that it was working well. I guess the ideal is drop have aura give you protection and you get a lot of fire auras from ppl picking up your conji weapons and you putting them out. It also lets you sit in earth so you can never be crit.

Something like this mind you i have not played it it was just a guild mate that was talking about it.

I’m quite disappointed by this change. I used to run a signet build with Fire’s Embrace to pop up an aura every few seconds, and Elemental Shielding to gain 3 seconds of protection with every aura. Add in Written In Stone so that I don’t lose the passive gain in, say, toughness when I activate a signet, and my dagger-dagger elementalist can actually survive melee combat. I was just getting excited about having enough points to get Powerful Aura as well to spread some auras to my allies, but now I lose a crucial link to my build. The conjure builds are getting the auras now, but at a much lower frequency. I don’t see the signets builds as viable any more.

There is 1 trait on conjure skills (plus 4 more traits that can trigger as secondary effects), 2 on cantrips (plus 2 more traits as potential secondary effects), 1 trait on arcane skills (plus some potential secondary effects), and 1 on glyphs (plus potential secondary effects). However, there is only 1 trait on signets, with no possible secondary effects. Strong as Written In Stone is, you can’t make a build on 1 trait alone with no synergy with other skills or traits. Anet, please consider adding Fire’s Embrace back in some form to make this more balanced.

You dudes aint creative eh. I know you all really just want the auras to trigger elemental shielding and if you actually try you can find ways to trigger it. Frost aura on crtical hit in the water line? Also we have an automatic fire aura in the fire line when we swap to fire attunement(sunspot minor trait). Not to mention weapon skills that can trigger auras and lastly theres also a runeset that grants auras. Maybe just maybe anet thought the fire aura on signet use was too easy? Particularly since we now get two extra trait points in every line.

That is a very nice story, which is technically true. However, the reason why people like aura on signet was because it made signets actually useful. Who knew.

Untraited Signet of Earth and Air sit at 25 seconds. Signet of Fire 20 seconds in the new patch.

Exactly the same as previous so no, the cool down times are not increased.

Signet CD reduction can be found with Written in stone GM trait in Earth line. And I dont know anyone running a signet build who doesn’t take Written in stone.

Also just to drive it home further.

Attunement recharge dropped to 10 seconds. Thats a fire aura every 10 seconds when we swap into fire with the automatic minor sunspot trait.

-Sunspot – Inflict damage at your location when you attune to fire and gain a fire aura (10 second attunement recharge cd)

-Soothing Ice – Gain regeneration & Frost Aura when critically hit (20 second CD)

Hint about conjure trait: using conjure count as pick and your charracter count as ally. So while conjuring it proc conjure trait so you gain fire aura and if you pick conjure weapon from ground you also gain fire aura. Noticed one thing, that it doesn’t goes to time higher that traited fire aura + rune. Example: I have almost 8s of fire aura from conjure, when I will go to pick second conjure from the ground its refill duration time to almost 8s.

Yes, we can read. We knew about the other ways to get aura. The point is that Anet nerfed Signets by moving the aura-generating traits to Conjures instead. Signets were not overpowering or popular to begin with, so this nerfing leaves us scratching our heads. At this point, there is little reason to choose Signets as opposed to other utility skills.
