well, now that we’ve established that anet doesn’t give a flying kitten about what we think, i will no longer be recomending this game to anyone, and i will likely be looking for new mmos to put my time into. congratulations anet
The game is really turning bad… Bad direction choice. I think it’s time to take a pause. Visual nerf wars, completly broken pvp etc…
What is even happening, you guys? Do we know if Chaos armor and light aura got murdered, as well?

I’m sure the three people who actually use these will be devastated (in PvP, with the exception of FGS o’course.)
Shocking and Magnetic Auras look like they are now nigh-invisible in a team fight. Great change /s
More to the point, their insistence on fixing things that aren’t broken while letting numerous bugs and balance issues go unfixed for months at a time is frustrating.

You guys don’t realize it but shocking and magnetic aura were too easily seen and as such, easily countered. Now true balance can be found so that the only way a player will know that you have magnetic aura is when he sees his arrows flying back in his face.
Next update: Reduced the visual noise of long range shot.
We felt it was enough for players to see their health dropping to know what is happening in the game.
Thank you A-Net. I hadn’t realized the game was so bad. Now it works much better. Please also remove the visual noise of lava font and meteor shower, so I can bombard a point without anyone realizing it. I also find that player characters to be a big problem with visual noise, so please decrease that and make all players nearly invisible. A simple pixel should be sufficient to identify a player.
All visuals should be removed. All battles just need to be floating numbers between two sprites. Visuals have no place in esports.

Lots of players have been asking to get SAB back for a while now. Anet is only acting on a popular request from the GW2 playerbase. Now they are trying to make the entire game into a big SAB, it will be wonderful!

Yeah, I outraged at first #ashamed, then when I actually went to play the game, is kinda beneficial for us as they don’t know what’s going on… effect it’s not that ugly anyways, although the changes should be optional as they are client sided it was not a big deal.

The changes should be optional. This nerf is against the design philosophy of GW2. Wooden Potatoes justified this nerf in his recent video saying that we usually look at the player bar for the buffs and auras anyway. I completely disagree with this justification, because GW2’s design philosophy had always been for the player to react to the environment and visual cues…not to be staring at the UI! Plus, I can’t have every player or NPC targeted on order to see their buffs, auras, or debuffs at the same time!
This visual nerf is very bad for the game because it is directly opposing the original design philosophy that makes this game so great!
I’m calling a vote for renaming Fireball into Flare, since that’s what it is right now…
Instead of nerfing effect detail, how about add “Effect Detail” option with Low/Medium/High/Ultra to graphics settings!!!
And while they’re at it also create different graphical priorities for open world PvE, so that NPCs are loaded before players…
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.

They are pretty much ruining previously visually most amazing profession to play into something which is not an eye candy anymore, tiny kitten fireballs, auras which are close to invisible.. eh, they can just remove all flashy effects elementalists have and turn them into visually boring profession as warriors are right now
On one hand I kinda like the aura change since all the auras can now symmetrically mesh together… and generally, I’m much harder for people to read.
Of course, the later is the complete opposite of what they were going for… and only weirdo’s like me care about that first one.
On the practical and aesthetic side of things? Nah. New auras are silly. I prefer the old auras. They looked much cooler.
Still don’t care much for the fireball change either. I want the old one back. Or at least one that’s slightly larger/flashier than the one we have now.
