nah. you could just walk thru the fire until you have 25 might. that’s OP. On top of that, if you or allies do a blast finisher on it, that’s Aoe 3 stacks of might.
Walking through it should grant 3 stacks of might with an ICD per player. Even with this, fire’s focus abilities are rather lackluster.
I’ve already seen enough of the buff/condition on a wall skills.
I don’t think adding boons to the skill would make it any more fun at all.
Just buffing the skill wouldn’t make me want to use it, regardless of how powerful it becomes.
I think that changing the functionality of the skill to something a bit more fluid would make it much nicer.
The main problems are
- The low damage
- The high reuse
- The very small size of the wall, making it very hard to properly use blast finishers on the wall (it is so small, there were even bug reports where players thought that blast finishers didn’t work on flamewall)
so it’s basically everything about this skill that needs rework

… should be replaced. I ‘accidently’ cast it sometimes in WvW and its a pure dps loser in a fight.

Think i put this ideia months ago put here go again…my firewall change:
Flamewall
cast 1/2 sec CD 30 sec
last 5 seconds
damage 80
2 secs of burning to any enemy who passes
Give 2 stacks of migth that last 10 seconds to any ally passes(ICD 10)
After casting the flamewall you could end it prematurely (like temporal curtain) to activate another effect.
Implode
Knockback nearby foes away from the flamewall
radius 500
knockback distance 400
The ideia is too keep the control theme on the focus,but its just food for thougth.

Flamewall is so useless
i think the idea with might to allies when they cross is a good one. But that skill would be still very useless they should add a 1 sec fear effect like the spectral wall from necro. Lower duration from 8 sec to 4 sec or 5 sec and make it as skill 5 with 40 sec CD and fire shield as skill 4 with 20 sec cd.
I would prefer to remove it and replace it with a lava font
if they were to buff flamewall, a buff like this is gonna be so insiginificant that i would rather have Anet spend their resources on a useful buff instead. buffing for the sake of buffing isn’t gonna work.
and CMSTORM the wall would get the same treatment as the Mesmer curtain whereas it’s a Independent 3 stacks of might that can’t be stacked on top of, to make it even worse and more undesireable.

I have an issue with it being lackluster.
When you are given the lowest hitpoint and armor in the game and have your mobility nerfed because you are told that you aren’t supposed to be using your attacks for that purpose … none of your abilities should be lackluster.
Seriously, look at our drawbacks:
1. No weapon swapping
2. Lowest hitpoints
3. Lowest armor
4. few mobility options.
5. few elite options.
Our strengths are what … ?
1. Damage? – Others do more than us without any of these drawbacks.
2. AE? – Completely nerfed Pre-Release after all the drawbacks were put in. Before the 5-man cap I could have bought this argument. Now… no way, especially after the block/evade nerf.
3. Healing? – Completely nerfed Pre-Release after all the drawbacks were put in.

Might when passing through flamewall is overkill since stacking might with S/F is already so easy you almost always have 20+ might stacks when following your routine of flame wall blast blast blast blast.
I think a secondary skill activation like Temporal Curtain >> Into the Void type of thing as someone previously suggested will be a nicer touch though. It’s also weighing benefits whether you prematurely end the Flame Wall and get a nice effect or make it last to the very last second to keep blasting on it until your 25+ might stacks last for a week or two.

I do think Eles have a number of drawbacks, but I don’t think “no weapon swapping” is really among them. The class gets attunements in lieu of that, and attunement swapping counts as weapon swapping for the purposes of “on swap” sigils.
I do, however, wish we got more weapon choices. Underwater, our weapon options are trident or trident. Or, better yet…trident.
