Fire attunement
Fire Wall: I find this skill to be fine.
Fire Shield: Reduce cooldown to 25 from 40 seconds.

Water attunement
Freezing Gust: Make it AoE so it hits the nearby foes of target as well. Increase chill duration to 8 seconds from 3 seconds.
Comet: I find this skill to be fine.

Air attunement
Swirling Winds: I find this skill to be fine.
Gale: Reduce cooldown to 25 from 50 seconds. Make it hit foes in a line. (Similar to warrior mace OH skill tremor)

Earth attunement
Magnetic Wave: Increase duration to 4 from 3 seconds.
Obsidian Flesh: I find this skill to be fine.

Also focus lacks any traits in the arcane line, and being a defense oriented weapon, I think it should either grant some sustain through passive regen (for example like adrenal health) or grant extra defense (like converts 10% of your toughness and vitality into armor). Thoughts, ideas?

I think you may be insane.
Fire Wall not fine, the damage or burning duration need to be boosted a little.
Fire Shield Agree on shorter cd or longer duration

Freezing Gust That is a super buff
Comet Bug fix, can no longer go through obstructions

Swriling Winds Agree, while adding aoe swiftness would be nice this skill is a good one
Gale Another super buff.

Magnetic Wave I think this skill is fine personally
Obsidian Flesh I also think this is fine and a very good skill

I had some trait ideas for the focus, can’t remember them now, nothing too grand.
Something like Focus Empowerment: Take 5% (non stacking) less damage for 2 seconds every time you cast a focus skill.

Thanks for the honest opinion. I don’t think my suggestions are insane though. I trust you on Fire Wall, I’ve been only using focus for a few days, and that skill was mostly used as a fire combo field, never really watched its damage.

Freezing Gust currently, chills a single opponent for 3 seconds. I think for a 25 second cd skill 3 second chill is a terrible, it should be longer (maybe 6 seconds), and should hit more enemies. There are plenty other skills out there which either has longer chill duration, aoe, or both, this skill needs a huge buff.

Same with Gale, just compare it to any other 2 second knockdown skills. But if bringing it to the same level as tremor would be overpowered, then make it a 30 seconds cd skill just like backbreaker, or keep the 50 sec cd and make it aoe/cone type of attack.

Freezing Gust could use more chill, but I think 9 second aoe chill would be way over the top for it. We’ve got to remember that the ele is the worst at everything, but can do everything professions. So if you gave the elementalist the best chill in the game then that would break Anet’s view of the elementalist. Currently (to my knowledge) the greatest chill we can achieve with 1 skill is a full hit of Frost Fan for 7 seconds (even though it should hit for 21 seconds of chill). Just adding a small aoe or increasing it duration to 5-6 seconds would be nice.

Gale is lacking a bit, but again, bringing the skill in line with warriors skills would break the “worst at everything but can do everything” philosophy. A simple cooldown reduction would be nice here, but you have to remember it is a long kd, has little ‘tell’ and fires backwards.

Fire wall has low damage, a small field and only applies 1 second burn, it could use some love but does have a decent duration

Fire shield is would be very nice with a duration buff to 7 seconds or a cool down reduction. It is currently out shinned buy frost aura (dagger water 4) that shares a cooldown, lasts 7 seconds (tooltip, its been a while so ingame could be different) reduces incoming damage by 10% and applies a nasty chill to anyone attacking. Fire aura would be very nice with the 1 second cd between burn removed and 1 sec duration for might left there, but remember, buffing fire aura will buff all classes that can leap finisher for it.
