Hi!

So I decided to take my main FOTM warrior and trip him out completely for WvW, this includes swapping out his AR for WvW buffs. The only other character I’ve taken into FOTM is my Elementalist who is around level 20 or so. (FOTM level). Because I have only be using him for sPvP lately I would like to make him my main sPvP and FOTM character.

What is the normal FOTM Elementalist build now a days? I plan on at least getting to the mid 30s. I have heard the D/D still works but others have suggested Septer/focus for team support and block, especially if you do not have a guardian in your party.

Any advice on traits, weapon set etc would be appreciated!

The FOTM Ele spec is Warrior.

Sounds like you’ve got it covered.

I personally use a variation of it but the premise is pretty much the same. You stack might using blast finishers and aoe fire spells to 25 then pop lightning hammer/(fgs if not on cd) and just go to town. Staff support is also highly regarded but i feel guardians are more heavily favored over support eles. Simple s/d s/f and d/d builds are also optional but less damage(more fun).

I use all my weapons at least occasionally. If you had to go with just one I would say staff or s/f since some enemies just can’t be meleed reliably but learn all your weapons and use the right one at the right time to make things much easier.

Lightning hammer or fullzerker staff with meteor + burning retreat + lava font + auto attack works pretty well actually (remember to stack up and use the burning retreat against a wall so all fire elements hit the same spot).

Or roll a warrior as suggested above. Roughly the same damage, 8000 hp more + more armor and better offensive buffs (the lightning hammer build for example has near zero teamplay except if someone drops a combo field on your feet).

People need to stop saying FOTM and start spelling it out. I see it used as flavor of the month and fractals of the mists. Someone clarify, as there are no contexts to what this guy is asking.

Thanks for the video, helped a lot. Didn’t know LH was so effective. Yes I know warriors are great in FOTM, mine is up too 45. As I said, I changed my warrior completely over to WvW and general PvE so he cannot survive in high level FOTMs. Plus I want to do something different, the warrior is fun and all but I like to cycle through my other characters and have specific rolls for them. I would like my ele to be my FOTM runner.

EDIT: How is flame axe with the buff, is there any reason to bring that over LH?

Fotm is like the only place where warrior isn’t that good :o

Staff does a lot more dmg now that lava font got a buff from Persisting Flames. In fact, it does more dmg than the LH build and that of any warrior when running the right build.

Staff is still bad.

Conjures and glyphs, pretending to be a ranger with lesser elementals, icebow and fgs.
